So, did anyone pick up the book this week? I'll be stopping by my shop on the way home from work today to check it out...
There are four variant covers...
Cover #1A by Alex Ross (http://www.imagecomics.com/cgi-bin/index2.cgi?wH=602&jS=jS)
Cover #1B by Marc Silvestri (http://www.imagecomics.com/cgi-bin/index2.cgi?wH=602&jS=jS)
Cover #1C by J. Scott Campbell (http://www.imagecomics.com/cgi-bin/index2.cgi?wH=602&jS=jS)
Cover #1D by Michael Turner (http://www.imagecomics.com/cgi-bin/index2.cgi?wH=602&jS=jS)

Like the Ross and Cambpell covers, don't like the Silvestri and Turner covers.

Hmm, I like Silvestri's work. i used to love his Uncanny X-Men years.. I think his cover is rather good. Ross' is perfect, as usual.
Turner's cover, while not quite as I see G-Force (fluid japanese 'manga' types being translated into muscle, stiff, American style), it works best with logo...
The logo is my problem, it's too... flashy and big. It drowns each composition...

Well, I stopped at my comic shop on my way home yesterday and thumbed through the issue...and ended up getting the Alex Ross cover.
After seeing the "muscle bound" cover in person, I truly didn't like it.
For those of you who are familiar with G-Force...this story arc is right out of the first episode with the Space Terrapin only it's an airliner that disappears instead of a space shuttle/station.
I enjoyed it and the art styling is straight out of the TV show. Mark, Jason, Princess, etc. all look the same...and it certainly brought back some memories for me. I'll probably pick up the next 2 issues to finish out the arc.

Bought it... thought it was pretty good, but I needed a little more action.
Some of the action sequences left me a little confused, but I'll stay on for the first story arc at least.

All the covers have unique features, but I would have to say my favorite covers by order.
1) Michael Turner
2) Marc Silvestri
3) Alex Ross
4) J. Scott Campbell
I may pick up this issue if I'm not busy this week or weekend.

I read it yesterday. It was pretty cool, unfortuatntly, I had to buy Transformers: Armada before it sold out.

Picked up the Ross cover. I liked it okay but not as much as the G.I.Joe and Transformer launches.
I don't mind keeping the characters with the classic costumes but the bell bottoms have to go. What is this? That 70s Show?

:D i said the same freakin thing, the costumes where cool. But the civilian clothes where not cool at all. Good issue though, if you like the series the original series not the crappy remake that i have on dvd you'll love it.

I picked it up on a whim, and I think I'll stick around for the run.
The 70's clothing needs to go though!!

liked the art in the book so far got the silvestri and turner covers, so i'll definitely be collecting the book. to bad they didn't up date the look of the book by using the 94' OVA as the guide for the series.
the costumes that they used in the 94' OVA looked so much better than the 70's costumes. :p

This might have worked a lot better with some older Silver Age artists doing the penciling, or at least a "retro" artist.
I would have loved to see the G-Force as drawn by Mike Allred.
:: Dreaming:: Or John Romita Sr. Or Steve Ditko. Or Jack "He can't be dead" Kirby. Or John "He can't be dead either" Buscema.

Hey. it's little things like bellbottoms that made BOTP and Star Blazers great! OK, so it was probably other things, but if it isn't broken don't fix it, right?

Yeah, personally, I like that they kept the bell bottom look! :p
