i just read and interesting (yet useless, but hey) fact online which some of you may know and some may not. the poker hand called the "dead man's hand" consists of 2 aces and 2 eights, all with the black bullets (ace of spades and clubs, eight of spades and clubs). It was the hand Wild Bill Hickock had when he was shot in the back of the head on august 2, 1876, at the saloon number 10 in deadwood, south dakoda (sp?). its not cetain what the fifth card was, some say it was a jack of diamonds or spades, others say it was a 5 of diamonds, and others say a queen of hearts or spades, or a 9 of diamonds. well i just thought it was interesting (and alittle creepy). Like i said its sort of useless information unless you're a poker, wild west, or batman beyond buff. peace.

I was always wondering where that phrase came from, and the explanation is just interesting as hell. It's a useless, but cool, fact.

Well, here's a pretty obvious one: The Royal Flush Gang is in fact a royal flush. King, queen, jack, ten, and ace. But you all knew that.

I think that is awesome. Its always cool to see how a piece of history fits into something I like. Was this a true story Derek?

according to some poker website, its completely true. I wish i could remember the site, but i just came across it randomly and didnt bother to take note of the address. I just wrote down the important stuff, like the date he got shot and the hand and stuff cause i figured it would be a cool thing to post. peace.

I think it would have been cool if during the episode some characters, maybe the people on the yacht, are playing Poker and someone has a dead man's hand.

Thanks for the info, DerekPowers.

Fans always assumed "schway" (or "shway") was simply made up, a 2040s version of "cool." There really is a word pronounced shway. "Feng shui" is the Chinese philosophy of placing people and objects in harmony with their surroundings. Perhaps Gotham adopted the word for the same purpose as "cool." Both slang words mean "excellent/perfect."

Since future Gotham is a multicultural city this seemed to fit.

I don't know how to spell it, but I was watching some anime and sometimes when they thought something was cool or awesome a word that sounds like schway was said....
