It was actually on Fox Kids. It was cancelled due to low ratings, probably because of the severe editing.

In my opinion, Escaflowne failed to target FK's target audience. FK's audience are cereal eating sheep who like everything handed to them on a silver platter, easy for digestion.

KWB is its successor.

It probably would have bombed just the same had it been unedited.

CCS is still on because KWB made a large investment into the series (all those nifty opening graphics) and there are 70 episodes that can be spliced up for summer filler if nothing else.

Escaflowne only had 26 episodes, a very tight plotline that didn't stand up to cutting very well, and some really lousy editing and promotional decisions working against it.

I think FOX is getting better, albeit very slowly. They handled the end of the last Digimon season fairly well. If somebody could just get Haim Saban and his Power Idiots outta there. . .

It shouldn't be, come to think of it. Besides the editing, Kids WB has shown "Cardcaptors" episodes out of order, to change the storyline.

I'm happy they stoped airing it. They tore that thing to pieces.
They have also pretty much changed the Storyline in CCS. Did they ever air the real first episode?

They aired CCS episode 1 spliced in with episode 41.

They never even aired the episode where Tomoyo/Madison first found out about Sakura's powers. Though there were a lot of adoring looks from her in that episode.

I don't understand! Why would anybody mess with a plot THAT much? All this just because Li wasn't in the first episode?

They cut out most of the interaction scenes and mainly stuck with the plotline. You see her open the book...and her first card capture, but they cut out all the interaction and setup, like introductions about Sakura's life and friends.

What they did was open the episode with Li and Sakura in the middle of capturing a card (episode 41) and then Sakura "remembering" back when she first opened the clwo book (episode 1).

That's just weird. I can only wonder what kinda of a line they gave her to remember it.
