I was doodling this on a letter I'm sending to a friend - it came out OK (imo) so I ran it through my newly working scanner and thought I'd share it with you!
I was looking at some of my old stuff that I had submitted and sometimes I find you need a bit of time before you can see your work constructively. I think I'll start posting more here as I move back towards resubmitting artwork to companies. My problem is that I need to define a more definitive style... later!

Woah  And I thought Bruce was out of shape when he quit. :p
Nice job though. I like it :)

Thanks!
I thought a more, ahem, realistic portayal would be more interesting that the standard boobs and butt approach! :D

My favorite part is the stance. Her feet look firmly planted on the ground and you did an excellent job getting her posture to match. I also like how you made her look not so "boobs and butt". But i think the wrinkles in her costume work somewhat against her attractiveness. The detail looks really good, but it makes her look saggy, or something. But, hey, it's still a great piece of work! :D

Hmmmm...hey SJJ, do you have any "aged" takes on any other characters? I'd love to see those, too! This one is pretty cool - it's got a cool Frank-Miller-esque touch to it. :)

I have done many 'perfectly formed' characters in the past - however I think the 'saggyness' (I like that word) is just a way to stand out from all the 'manga' orientated pencils hitting the comic world at the moment (especially Marvel).
Thanks everyone - I appreciate the feedback. Expect some more 'Saggys' to come Tim! :)

Do tell! What other "saggies" do you have on the backburner?
Huh huh huh huh huh? :)
I remember trying my hand at that when I was recreating all the Bat-villains for "Batman Beyond"; the Penguin turned out looking like an aged war vet or somethin'. He was more cartoony than saggy, though. :P

Cool idea Tim. I was trying something similar with the Joker by taking a page from Dark Knight Returns and translating into my interpretation. Pretty difficult as you already have a conception of the page dogging you - I recommend it as a method of exploring narrative for budding artists - it's surprising how much harder it is to hold a storyline than hold a dramatic pose!
I need a lot more practise! :)
