According to Cinescape. Warner Brothers has hired someone to script the movie and Wolfgang Petersen to work on it. If done right this could kick butt!

Has possibilities. And I like Wolfgang Petersen. But the scriptwriter gives me pause. Visually "Sleepy Hollow" was sumptuous, but the script was illiterate garbage. Haven't we had enough bad superhero scripts?

Maxie is right. Superhero scripts blow.

As cool as this movie has the potential to be, I just have this gut feeling it may not end up as cool. THis wil llikely turn into another brainless WB movie.

I hope not, but it might just happen.

Thanks for the news. Really a shame that Dini pulled out and Andrew Kevin Walker was put it.

Another DC movie that will never be made...

That's Hollywood for you. Kevin Smith said in a recent interview that there are screen writers living in mansions in LA and Hollywood who have never gotten a movie made, but that's not what the studios pay them for . Kevin Smith wrote a screen play for a Superman movie and got paid good money for it, but I doubt (and he doubts) it will ever get made. But he doesnt' care, cuz he got paid for what they wanted him to do, and he got paid well.

I read he was even glad it was turned down becuase the Producer, JON PETERS, didn't even know who Kal-EL was!! NO lie!

I remember reading that interview where he said the producer had no clue what he was doing and had all these goofey ideas he wanted to put into the move. But about the Superman/Batman live action movie I don't think it'll be made for one reason. It would have to be a big budgeted movie to make it work and after Batman and Robin and Superman 4 I don't know if WB would take that risk.

It kills me if they don't make it based on Superman 4 and Batman & Robin. The only reason they tanked is because they got non-fans to write the movie and they were horrible. The original Batman(1989) was good not only because of the script, but also the background. He was the Dark Knight, not the Neon Knight. They thought they could make them campy and they tanked. Then you have producers or directors like Schumacher and Peters who have no clue about the main character and expect to make a movie work. That would be like making a movie about Abe Lincoln and not ever reading or knowing anything about him. "Yeah, let's make that president, oh what's his name?. a 5'2 fat guy". Ridiculous.

Excellene point about lincoln
that really puts it all in perspective.

Or like making a movie About Martin Luther King, played by Mel Gibson and calling it a reimagining :)

If they discard the previous movies I don't think I'd be that upset, actually. I just wonder what they're gonna do about costumes. Will Batman go back to his armor look or his rubber nipples? Will Superman remain spandex of go with the padded SPidey look? Time will tell...

I really want this movie to be made, but I have visions of it becoming the Aliens vs Predator of superhero films.

Could be cool. Could suck. You can say the same about any movie. WB learned their lesson from Batman & Robin, and it shows since they haven't released a Bat-movie in quite some time. "The Matrix" proved WB can make a cool "comic book" film, as long as they get the right people to work on them.

Agreed. WB did EVERYTHING wrong in BATMAN & ROBIN, and they definatly learned their lesson. Although how that film grossed $300 mill worldwide is beyond me.

Only way I can think of that it made that much money was for two reasons:
1. It's Batman! He's a legendary character nad people will still flock to see another Batman movie.
2. Because of all the stars in the movie. But it still is unbelievable that it made that much.

That $300 million is how much Batfans love Alfred! Looks like they could have afforded to give Michael Gough more of it.

I hate tyo say this. I didn't hate Batman and Robin
I just disliked it and couldn't get over the fact Alicia Silverstone had a mustache (yes she did, look real close)

What I hated
The Plot with Mr. Freeze and Poison Ivy
The Look of the move
The Costumes
Any script of anyone in a costume.

What I liked
The Alfred is Dying Plot
Uma- She did the best she could with what was written.
Clooney: See above.
