Here is a roster of animated films distributed by one company:

Quest For Camelot
The King and I
Space Jam
Cats Don't Dance
The Iron Giant
Osmosis Jones
Return of the Joker
The Powerpuff Girls Movie

Now, role-playing time, you are Big Idea and your animated film, Jonah: A Veggietales Movie, is going to be distributed by this company. What do you do?

Allen's Nickname.

Try and convince Disney to release it instead.

(Mind you - personal opinion time - I think that the Disney Corp. is evil incarnate, but they do understand how to market and release animated films.)

You've never heard of Veggietales before?

It's a video series, intended for the 'Barney' demographic group, which re-tells Bible stories and morality tales w/ casts of anthropomorphized vegetables. Ex; in the Veggie version of David and Goliath, the title characters are an asparagus stalk and a giant gerkin (you've got to give them credit for originality.)

As silly as this approach sounds, it does seem to go over well with the kids, and nobody disputes the high quality of the CGI animation.

Now is the concern here possible boycotts if the company decides to circulate both secular and religious matter? The aforementioned famously kid-friendly Disney catered to the adult market with Blaze some years back, and I didn't hear anything about their profit margins significantly taking a hit. Also, diversification of product and eclectic thinking is essential to remain competitive in the American market. In this increasingly godless society, this represents a very forward-thinking move on BI's part.

A giant pickle...*snicker snicker*....

Nobody's got any buisness boycotting anybody for that- this is the United States! People who want to live in a society where only one viewpoint is allowed expression had better move to one of those Islamic countries.

Yes, but one of the more bothersome aspects of freedom is that one can't keep people from being ignorant a-holes. When Rush Limbaugh advertised orange juice on his show, in Florida a cache of leftist fringe feminists boycotted that particular commodity. It never came to much, but as long as they didn't hurt anyone, the country basically let them pitch their hissy and be done with it. That's another aspect of freedom: if an a-hole talks, we aren't obligated to listen.
As for a Jonah veggietale, what vegetable would play the part of a great fish, I wonder? Would a watermelon be a bit much?

That sounds feasible to me.
