'Cause Brian said I had to give this thing a whirl...looks easy enough...oooh, man, are those smilies ugly!

Oh, this isn't nearly as easy as it looks. If you hit Bold, it pulls up a separate window and stuff...I'd rather just do it with good ol' HTML...I wonder if I can still do that...

<b>Can I?</b> If that worked, then obviously I can.

What else...uh...wonder what the heck a PHP is. Let's find out!
Phudge!

We'll see what that does.

This is going to be HUGE, according to the thing that says "HUGE."

But what good is using all this neat stuff if everybody else is gonna have access to it anyhow? No fun in that.

Ah, well.

Mona Lisa, Mona Lisa, men have named you...you're so like the lady with the mystic smile...

Well, enough of that. I guess I'll use an ugly Smilie and call it a night. I just wanted to make this post so I'll have enough to use an avatar, actually.

And no, I'm not using a signature. I'll just type my two-character sig the old-fashioned way, thank you very much!

Oh, heck. They don't have a tongue-sticking-out Smilie? Geez.

Hee hee...he's mad.

It called me a newbie! I'll have you know I've been with this Board longer than this board has!

Other comments:

So we can't use HTML anymore? Boy, is that gonna get annoying. Very, very fast. =X

I don't understand the purpose of a PHP at all. I think I'll just use that one on special occasions.

And I hardly call that "HUGE." I'd call it "moderately large" at best. Crummy false advertising...

Well, I'm off to try on my new avatar for size! If all goes well, I've have an ugly self-drawn shot of Roboo-Cop under my name on all posts! Let's see if it works...

Craig is a newbie! Craig is a newbie! Neener Neener Neener!

...and I'm the Greatest Admin in my Own Little World! :D

No avatar tonight, kiddies. I had a great little shot thrown together right here (http://toonzone.net/craig/rbc.jpg), but there's no way I can shrink it down to 75 square pixels. That's a lot teenier than I thought it was. Geesh.

Well, so far, I'm rather underwhelmed with all this wacky technology. But I'll give it another chance tomorrow, maybe. Ciao for niao!

Avatar... never did like that word. I always prefered ASMATASM, god of Assembly Language. You think 75 pixels is too small? IMO, the pics are too darn big. I'm for shrinking them down to 48 pixels! Or even having 'em disabled altogether.

Anyway, I may still not be thrilled by all the changes, and I think this whole thing is confusing as heck, but I have to admit that Harl's done a pretty dang good job of making things fairly decent.

Question is, what's the rest of the board gonna think?

Avatar comes from Hindu, for the physical representation of a god. I think it's a neat word. ASMATASM sounds too much like a breathing disorder.

I have nothing against the avatars...in fact, they're one of the few features on this new board that don't bother me. That's probably just because my underdeveloped intellect likes to see big colorful pictures all the time, though.

No idea what the others will think. We shall have to wait and see.

Still have no idea what this is supposed to be.

HTML is disabled on this board for security reasons. You'd be suprised at how many malicious html codes there are that could cause utter chaos. So instead of HTML, this board uses vB code. What is vB code? You ask? Click here to find out. (http://forums.toonzone.net/misc.php?action=bbcode)

But... but... can't we keep it around until we have absolute reason to get rid of it? I mean, how many *malicious* uses of HTML have we had, anyway?

This is gonna be interesting to say the least...:)...and how do I get it to say Administrator beside my name, since I am one at the WF Boards. Ah well, plenty of time for that.

If you click on "enhanced mode", it'll just insert the begining tag for most of those buttons. Clicking on "close current tag" will do exactly what is says. Pretty nifty, no?

I find the vB code to be even easier to use than HTML, personally. And it's not as hard to explain to novices. Give it a try before you judge it!

If you go to the control panel, then "edit options", you can turn the avatars off. You don't have to see them if you don't want to.

I am trying it... and I'm pretty iffy about it. I mean, what if I want to post pictures and set them in a table? How the heck am I supposed to do *that* with this stuff? And other things too. I really think it's sacrificing a lot of versatility...

If I could set it so that Admins and Moderators were the only ones who could use HTML, I would. But that doesn't seem to be an option that I can find. I'll think about for a bit and get back to you.

::sniff:: ...would you? ...for me?

Hmph, now I'm gonna go back to my room and cry.

I'll think about for a bit and get back to you.

You'd better, young man!
