Why did they want to tell the people how bad the movie is before they see it?

ID4 was good and godzilla was complete crap, so maybe they are trying to say it's going to be an "okay" movie.

Personally, I didn't like either of these movies. 8 Legged Freaks looks like trash too.

All it is, is a big budget B-Movie. It's a movie about big spiders and the people who run away from them. So if it delivers that it could be very entertaining. P.S. ID4 was a great movie.

I think the reason they did that is to warn me. The movie looks bad enough, but the fact that it comes from the producers of two movies that were "ho-hum" for me make me even less likely to see it.

[indent]I almost think it is on purpose since they are advertising it as a B Movie (or possibly a parody of one). I think it could be pretty good as long as people know what to expect.

(looks at the poster)

Are the guys in the poster screaming in horror or laughing?

The ambiguity of their expressions is exactly the stuff B-movies are made of! This one might be worth checking out.

Y'know, the first few commercials I saw for this all made it out to be and action movie. I'm just glad that this thread confirmed what I guessed from seeing one of the "goofy" trailers last night: It's a HORRENDOUSLY cheesy B-Movie.

Thanks for clearing that up.

I will never see it not because of who made it(I loved ID4!) and not because its a bad B movie. I refuse to see this cause I'm arachniphobic and I don't watch movies with Spiders in them...it causes a bad reaction. I had to turn away when the spider bit Toby in Spider Man!

It looks kinda tounge-in-cheek to me. I could be wrong though.

ID4 was great and Godzila sucked- but either way they were both sucessful, and thus are good tools for promoting a movie... I guess...

Any movie with David Arquette can only be average (the original Scream being the exception), so I'm not expecting much, but I might just see it anyway.

ID4 and Godzilla were both big budget B movies. ID4 was at least entertaining because it had some good comedy. Godzilla was complete trash. As for the spiders movie, I have no intention of spending money on it. I don't have enough money to throw it away on a movie that promises that it will be bad in the commercials.

I do not plan on seeing this movie. I'd rather see A bunch of monkeys in capes, and helmets (hint hint) wreck havock on people than giant spiders. Those spiders look too scarry for me. Besides, David Arquette never was that much of A leading man anyways. Devlin & Emmerich are A bunch of talentless hacks! If there's one Spider flick worth seeing this year, it's "Spider-Man"!

Oh dear.... not a good sign.
Although a giant spider movie sounds like a good idea, a 21st century spin on a 50s B movie concept ( I've always thought that 'Tarantula' was a pretty good movie ), the fact that those TWO are involved sends shivers down my spine.
As a fan of the original Godzilla, I'll never forgive them for their 1998 travesty.
And as a big Sci fi fan, I'll never forgive them for ID4. That could have been a great movie... but what we got was too dumb for words.
Devlin & Emmerich seem to forget the fact that us filmgoers actually have brains... their films are just insulting.

I might go to see it when it comes out, it's been a while since I don't watch a movie with spiders on it, I remeber that Arachnophobia(sp) was a great one.

Amen - although ID4 was good.

Oh yeah - anything starring David Arquette is such a high quality film............... :D

I think the movie is supposed to be to spiders, what "Tremors" was to giant mutated worms.

If it's anything like Tremors was, I'll be happy. :D
