View Full Version : Poll: If You Could Visit Any Fictional Locale...

Giving the "make-my-own-poll" thing another go here---so, as the subject states, which fictional locale would you want to visit? What would you do there?
For me, probably Metropolis...see the "Daily Planet", maybe look at some of the sights, buy fictional versions of real-life name brand products, buy a map of the United States to find out where all DC's fictional cities *are* located, once and for all (and buy a few history books/almanacs to see what their world's history is like for sure as well), check out what the entertainment/nightlife's like in Metropolis (including seeing what sort of comic books do they read there), and finally, visit Clark Kent at his apartment (and maybe give him a bit of a startle via telling him I know his, ahem, "little secret" :-)
Either there, or maybe Central City---seeing the Flash Museum would be cool...as well as seeing the Flash himself. Would also want to meet the Golden Age Flash (Jay Garrick) and the Pied Piper (aka "Piper").
Either those two places, *or... (Narrator voice) the city...of *Townsville*! Sights to see: "Volcano Mountain", "Little Tokyo Townsville", the Utonium residence, the Townsville City Hall...also maybe ride the monorail they showed in that "Nano of the North" episode. Would also want to see what its nightlife is like (hey, I am a youthful adult here :-) and of course, meet the Powerpuff Girls in person (and the Professor). Also would want to meet that Talking Dog, just for kicks...

Townsville for me, of course.
To hopefully get a look at my favorite evil-genius chimpanzee (from a safe distance, of course.)
And if I was really lucky, I might get a chance to point out to him that his chosen life-style doesn't seem to be making him happy.
Townsville for me to.
I want to meet the Fuzzy Lumpkins! :p :D

Gotta be Gotham. Maybe commit a crime in the hopes of meeting a pointy-eared vigilante ;)
Good Ol' Batmanuel!

I'm gonna say The City. I'd hang around at the diner and hope The Tick, Arthur, American Maid, Die Fledermaus and Sewer Urchin show up. I'd also like to get a glimpse of Chairface Chippendale to try and figure out how he talks! ;)

Oh, yeah, I'd love to visit The City!
SPOOONNNN! :D

I'd be scared to go to Townsville, between the giant monsters peridically stomping it and the frequent Mojo attacks...not to mention it'd be just my luck to visit on the day Him blows into town. I'd never withstand his mind-games.
Same with superhero burgs like Metropolis, Gotham, or The City, considering how much property damage incurs from spandex boys (and girls) tussling in the streets, or villains like Joker, Two-Face, and Penguin running wild shooting and blasting up the place.
I'd like to visit Lawndale, home of Daria Morgendorffer. Acme Labs is a close second, though. I wonder--if I came up with a scheme for world domination that worked, would Brain give me credit?

Possibly- Pinky would probably insist on it.
Acme Labs was my second choice; Townsville edged it out just because a visit there is likely to be more exciting.
Prehaps, as you indicated, a bit *too* exciting. But, to quote the Townsville Chamber of Comerse, that's what makes it worth the trip!

I would go to Acme Labs and steal Pinky. And I'll end it at that. ;)

Can I pick all? I'd like to go to Metropolis to check out the Daily Planet and get a few looks at Clark Kent. I'd love to go to Gotham maybe join up with Harley and Ivy in hopes of seeing Batman then telling hoim they took me as a hostage and that i know he's Bruce Wayne so he'd have to take me in and I'd get to be part of the team! Springfeild...I just want to take part in one of Homer's wacky schems. The City of Townsville...has the coolest crime fighting team this side of Gotham. And Acme Labs because, I too would like to take over the world.

~in character ~ I'm Livewire-- I live in Metropolis and I've been to Gotham, and I stir up a lot of trouble in both places. :p
~steps out of character~ I voted for Metropolis. It'd be cool to see Supes flying around, or catch Lois dashing for a story.

That, or he might be willing to let Belch rule over part or all of his own continent/geographic region--- recall the recycled-stock-footage promo where he tried to bribe, of all people, the Man of Steel into aiding him, in exchange for Superman having "all of northern Europe". :-)

Indeed...though I still wonder what the night life is like there (yeah, I'm that bored to be thinking about fictional cities' nightlife :-)

Be careful what you wish for. Nearly everyone in town except Daria and Jane are complete idiots (and even they have their moments).
Cape Sousette might be a fun place to visit, with high-rise buildings running up the cliffs, a waterfall through the middle of downtown, seaplanes flying in through a narrow canyon gap, and a local dictator who resembles my avatar!

Actually, thinking of it, that might be my choice, too. I always thought that'd be the greatest place to live when I was a kid (despite always being more of a Darkwing fan than a Tale Spin fan). It really was one of the purtiest settings a cartoon series has ever had. Plus the calypso music / '30s nostalgia / generally relaxed atmosphere appeal to me.
As it is, I put Springfield. What can I say, I'm not big on excitement. ;)

Unless of course, I arrived on Halloween...then I'd be lucky to get out without dying two or three times......

Sounds like heaven compared to the pukehole I grew up in. Plus it'd be great to find an intelligent girl like Daria who shares my cynical outlook of life, and who can write. Who makes a better lover for one writer than another writer (well, maybe a model and/or actress). At least I'd have someone to talk to and break the monotony on those long walks to the P.O. to mail manuscripts (yes, like Brainatra, I'm bored...and lonely enough to be pondering the seduction of an animated girl. *sigh*).
For those who care, Darkwing Duck was set in St. Canard, which is French for "duck". It may have loosely been based on San Franciso, noting the Golden Gate-like bridge on D.W.'s nightly patrol. Presumably it was also Duckburg's sister city, possibly having a real-world parallel in that too....

Bikini Bottom for me :p also, i would like to visit O-Town :)
Springfield the home of my favorite cartoon Characters the Simpsons! Meeting Homer (or my main man Sideshow Bob) would be like I've died and gone to heaven.

Really?
(fidgets nervously)
Gee, if that's who I can expect to find in heaven, maybe I should re-consider that other place...

Other: I'd pick just about any city on the "perfect" Earth created by Scott McCloud for his Zot! color/B&W/Internet comics series that, thankfully, refuses to stay in limbo for very long at a time. (Hey, who else in comix would have given us a world where Beirut is a vacation paradise?)

That's what it once was in this world, before the wars.

I'd go to Springfield just to taste the pure goodness that is an All Syrup Super Squishee... Mmmmmmm
