Hobo Gadget Band (WB)
Sleepy-Time Bear (MGM)
Rookie Revue (WB)
Penny Antics (POPEYE)
Homesteader Droopy (MGM)
Little Brother Rat (WB)

My Review:

Hobo Gadget Band has an interesting ending. The hoboes stay as hoboes (which is actually common in cartoons).

Sleepy Time Bear... No wonder I never heard of it! It was supposed to say Sleepy Time Squirrel, and was later corrected.

Rookie Revue is a spoof of army life. I would assume one part is edited.

Penny Antics is a "cheater" cartoon. In Popeye's Penny Arcade, Popeye is always the hero and in Bluto's Penny Arcade, Bluto is always the hero. Popeye and Bluto fight about stealing customers, and Wimpy sells tickets to that fight. (possibly a way to pay people back next Tuesday?)

In one part of Little Brother Rat, it seemed like Sniffles would make friends with the owl, but the owl ended up giving him a trick egg.

Perhaps Argus means "Sleepy-Time Squirrel", which is also a Barney Bear cartoon? I remember on Valentine's Day, when they accidently played this one, instead of the scheduled rare "Sleepy-Time Tom". The titles are very similar, and they probably got the tapes mixed up.

The Barney Bear cartoon that aired today was "Sleepy Time Squrriel". I corrected this Acme Hour post on the What Aired Today? board.

Incidentally, the narrator of HOMESTEADER DROOPY was Paul Frees.

Not only is "Penny Antics" a cheater, it is a color remake of a b/w cheater cartoon! CN airs a redrawn version, but the cartoon's name escapes me.

The B&W cheater must use different clips, because the clips used in Penny Antics are from color cartoons.

--or are we getting a lot of Popeye cheater cartoons lately? The Acme Hour is within a harlot's hair of just doing a whole show of nothing but cheaters....

The B&W version, called "Customers Wanted", used footage from "The Twister Pitcher" and "Let's Get Movin'".
