To all Don and Mike fans: What happened??

This message is specifically for people who listen to Don and
Mike on WNEW-FM in New York City:

I notice that Don and Mike aren't on WNEW anymore. Their radio show is no longer on that station. How come they were pulled> Bad ratings? Something personal? What happened?

I heard it was a combination of all of that. Supposedly, O&A and Don & Mike weren't getting along, and since O&A is the big ratings getter, you know... I also heard that Don was steering the show in a manner that WNEW the station didn't like. I'm not sure what's happening, but they're looking for a new show now.

I know that Don and Mike don't do so well in the ratings in NYC, and that they don't get along with Opie and Anthony. But, what do you mean by Don trying to steer the show in a way that WNEW didn't like? Also, why were they in repeats for almost a month??

First off, I hope that you, Emmanuel Cruz, will forgive me for deleting your duplicate post. The same goes for the mods on this board, ;).

As for Don & Mike, I listen on WJFK in Baltimore, MD. From what I've been hearing (which is little since they switched their timeslot from afternoons to midday), they were pulled in New York for low ratings. This could be traced (along with not having enough time to build a suitable fanbase) to Opie and Anthony attacking them on the air. Don & Mike attribute this as a large factor in their poor ratings (think about it for a minute: people on their own station making fun of them).

Currently, however, I have no idea what's going on -- I think they're still airing repeats.

Man, I didn't even know I posted twice. Something happened with the site, and I thought I didn't post yet because what I wrote was missing. But, anyway, I wish Don and Mike could come back. :( But what are ya gonna do? And I am a tad bit mad over the stuff that O&A said about Don and Mike several months ago.

O&A are a coulple of radio hacks. Their show is awful and I just stopped listening. Here on the Gulf Coast we get Walton & Johnson which is a much more intelligent, funny, and overall entertaining show. One of their rules is "No strippers on the show because it is RADIO so whats the point." Something Howard Stern and O&A should learn.
