I finally bought a Heroclix. I bought the Hobgoblin from the comic shop for 2 bucks. I'm waiting for the DC game to come out. I am thinking about picking a couple of the Marvel characters up to use. I had to get Hobgoblin.

So lets talk about Heroclix. Landen had a website with some info on the game. Does anyone have a full list of DC pieces yet?

I've been playing the game since they've come out. Booster packs seem to be selling like hotcakes cause every shipment my comic guy gets sells out almost immediately.

It kinda funny... I haven't been spending a ridiculous amount of money how my friend's are but I've been getting really lucky with picking booster packs. But that's just the luck of the draw I guess... I just pick up a pack here and there when I have extra money to spend. Hulk (Veteran) is my favorite to use BTW. Slipknot, is your Hobgoblin R, E, or V?

As much as it's fun to play, it's really cool building and preparing teams. I can't wait for the DC one's to come out cause I'm looking forward to building my own Justice League.

Cool thing I should add... the Marvel and DC versions should be compatible. :D

you have to get the sentienal (sp?) he is huge as hell, and he can capture people. The detail is really good too. Haven't played with him yet but if i ever play a 500 game its going to be him and Thanos. :D

How much was he? I saw him today but he wasn't priced yet and I was running short on time.

I just saw them today... they were priced at $14.99. Damn that thing was big, it's pretty much an action figure with a heroclix base. Looked pretty cool. I'll probably pick him up tomorrow. BTW, what's Thanos' point value? I think the Sentinals are worth like 500 something... I couldn't quite see clearly through the bubble. I just got a Veteran Annilhilus today... Running shot with three attacks... WooHoo

I haven't got into this game yet. I'm really waiting for the DC game before I start learning what makes it tick. How do you know that he has running attacks and so on? Is there a chart?

Slipknot, to be quite honest with you... I'd rather have the DC one's instead since I'm more familiar with a wider range of DC characters. But hey, I'm not opposed to learning about new characters, even if they are from Marvel (nothing against Marvel). Plus the guys I play with seem extensively knowledgable.... playing this game alone I'm learning alot about characters I've never even heard of.

Getting started with the Marvel HC will just make the transition easier when I go crazy and collect the whole DC line and will want to kick the living crap out of my opponents.... kind of like warming up for the real game. I'll have experience playing. Plus, if I need someone from the DC line that my friend's might have, I can always try and trade Marvel's with my friends. If there's one thing we can learn from Batman... he's always prepared. :p

As far as knowing there super powers and abilities... when you purchase a starter set, there is a chart enclosed. Notice on the HC's there are certain numbers in different colors. Those colors correspond to a chart that list different powers or abilities.

Thanos' point value is 185, and its smaller than kangs at 192, i was lucky and a guy sold me his Thanos for $15. He was in the comic store i was trading my heroclix for other ones i didn't have, and he needed the cash. He sold me his unique wolverine for $10. The sentinals point value is 300, but you can change that by how many clicks you give him i found out last night reading the rules a bit.

I am with you Batman Beyond. I am more interested in the DC game. I've grown away from Marvel.

I do want some of the characters like the Hobgoblin which I have. I am just wondering if I should get the other two Hobgoblins. I have the red ring one if I haven't said so before.

Thanks for posting the new list Landen. Hey what was that site with the Heroclix information? We have the url in the old Batman thread but not here.

I can't wait to see a picture of the trenchcoat Joker.

I've been doing a lot with Heroclix lately. I played in a tournament yesterday where we had to roll dice to see who controlled the Sentinel each turn. Each person had a 300-point team, though, and the Sentinel didn't last long, especially against Quicksilver's flurry attacks and Pyro and Cyclops blasting away at it. Each of us having Scarlet Witch to help our dice rolling was good too. It really is a fun game!

I now have all three for Cap America, Sabertooth, and Hogoblin. Buying each for 1 dollar a piece and the red ring one's for 2 each. I got a Thanos for 10. Using America, Thanos, Hogoblin, and Sabertooth could I win a game?

I can't wait for the DC characters to be released. That is when I will really get into getting the charcters.

How well did you do in the tournament?

With Thanos alone, he is a force to be reckoned with. He is definitely the bad boy of HeroClix. Add more characters and yes, you could kick butt!

I did okay in the tournament, but I'm only beginning to learn the nuances of the game!

I've been mostly selling singles from the game. I've bought four cases so far (4 x 48 booster packs) and I've sold quite a few so that I can support this very expensive hobby!

for someone new to the game thanos is very hard, but if you are able to find a good team he can easily be beatin.

at the comic shop i got to(captain comics, hoover alabama check it out if you are every in the birmingham are; wizard said it was the best store in alabama) the guy who runs it was playing my friend who sports the team of thanos and shield medic. the owner has 2 vultures, 2 cyclops and 2 shield medics. the owner kicked the crap out of thanos and shield medic. thanos can easily be beatin with a good team.

Is there a Dr. Doom figure?

I don't plan on buying a starter deck either. I think I am going to try and just buy the characters I want from stores. I don't really want a bunch of medics, Kingpins, or thugs.

Is Electra in black worth 10 bucks?

I think I will go look at the powers booklet at heroclix.com

Another question how much did you guys pay for your Sentinel?

BLACKHEART

Today I got the last Hobgoblin I needed, Spiderman, Wolverine, Electra, and Scarlet Witch. The guy gave me the rules and so forth for free. I guess he opens packs and sells them that way.

Well, I've been collecting (& playing) Heroclix for awhile now, but I've realized that my wallet can't handle it anymore! I have about 60 figures and a starter set, but I think I'm dropping the game due to the fact it's costing me a fortune...I might buy some of the DC characters I like when Hypertime comes out, but not go full-out like I did w/ Marvel.

Did you buy packs or did you buy them by the figure? I thnk it is cheaper to buy by the figure. I've been getting them for 2 or 3 bucks each.

Actually it's been going like this.

Yellow= $1
Blue= $2
Red= $3

However I got the red Hobgoblin for 2.

BLACKHEART

I wonder why that is. The great all mighty comic book guy seemed to say all flying guys were useless. I remember making small talk when I bought my first heroclix the Hobgoblin he said no one plays him.

I added the blue ring Magneto to my collection yesterday. Why does he have an X-Men logo on his base?

I've still never read the rules to this game. I don't think I could bring myself to playing it

my freind told me why he is xmen. prof. x whiped out his memory and he joined the x men and went by jeffery. flying charecters rock, you can pick people put them down and the picked up charecter can still attack.

BLACKHEART

I knew the flying characters could carry people but I didn't know they could attack while being carried. The flying characters can't attack the ground ones while in th air right?

Beyond Batman
07-06-2002, 06:39 PM
That right Slip. Here's the thing about flying characters.

For example: Rouge can pick up Wolverine, drop Wolverine in front of an opposing figure, then have Wolverine attack. That way, Rouge takes one action for moving. Then Wolverine uses one action for attcking.

Opposed to... On your first turn, if you have Wolverine independantly move, that already takes his action and can't attack until your second turn... having Wolverine attack on your second turn means you'd be "pushing" Wolverine to fatigue, giving him a click of damage.

So really, moving Wolverine on your first turn takes a an action, giving him an action token. Your second turn, you need to let him rest. Then your third turn you can take off the action token and have him attack.

The term they use for flying characters picking up grounded figures is called "taxi-ing."

Taxi-ing characters is a smart choice cuz you can often move and attack all in one turn rather than waiting for your characters to rest. However, there are some inconsistancies I[ve noticed. Like, can Rogue really taxi the Hulk or Juggernaut?

Some of the rules are a bit inconsistant, but they're still playable. I hope they fix this for the DC rules.

thats what i was talking about. you can set them up and attack in one turn its like an awesome running shot.

This is all very fascinating. What is it?

Anyway I can tell it's a game, but I've never heard of it. Is this a card game, or is it with miniatures? Is it like Warhammer (30K)?
