I was just wondering what everyone's five favorite superheros are. Mine go in this order..

1. Batman ( I like him way more than the others :p)

2. Spiderman
3. The Flash
4. Superman
5. Wolverine

This is really way too broad a topic to garner any focused discussion. Are we talking about our favorite heroes in the sense that, if these heroes were real people, who would be our favorites? Or are we dealing with the current state of their respective titles, or the state of their title historically? (i.e. Kyle Rayner as Green Lantern vs. Judd Winick's run of Kyle as Green Lantern.)

If you could help clarify what you were asking, I think it'd help me (if nobody else) answer the question.

The state of their title historically I guess. I wasn't really looking for a whole lot of discussion. I was just wondering what everyone's favorite superheros were. I thought it was a fairly simple straightforward question...

In NO CERTAIN order

1. Spider-man
2. Batman
3. Captain America
4. Superman
5. DareDevil

Others worth mentioning:

Spawn

For the most Heroic Heroes... I guess the top 3 would have to be Captain America, Superman and Spider-Man. I'll have to think about the rest.

:p

My favorite heroes:

Superman
Flash
Capt. Marvel (the original "Shazam!" version, not Marvel's version)
Wonder Woman
Batman

If one wants "favorite state of their titles historically":
Superman: the 70's/early 80's ("Bronze Age") era, the Animated Series title, and maybe the current (2000-onward) Superbooks...

Flash: the Barry Allen run (though Wally has his moments :-)

Capt. Marvel: I liked reading "Power of Shazam!" when it was around; haven't really had the chance to see any of the classic Capt. Marvel stories from the 40's (or its 70's revival beyond a few Superman crossovers in "DC Comics Presents")

Wonder Woman: Like reading the current titles (written by Phil Jimenez)

Batman: the 70's/80's era titles ("No Hope In Crime Alley", "To Kill a Legend" (exact name?), etc.) and the Animated Series title

Hmm...tough question. I'd have trouble narrowing it down to fie or ranking 'em. Anyway, here's five of my fave comic book heroes:

Batman
Thor
Dr. Strange
Quasar
She-Hulk

1. Batman
2. Incredible Hulk
3. Savage Dragon
4. Spider-Man
5. Superman

Why?

Batman has the cool gadgets, the dark mysteriousness, the rogues gallery from hell, and I can't imagine anyone else with them. Also the origin in classic vengeance and reason for being vigilantism.

Incredible Hulk has the most personal human origin. The monster in us all, the Doctor Jekyll and Mister Hyde mythos is intriguing to me. I love the idea of that monster lurking within and no real control over it.

Savage Dragon is the wildest action superhero I have ever seen. It is everything that comics is and should be about. Huge epic stories with unpredictable storylines that pull you in and won't let go. Villians that are completely out of left field, and all this trying to keep one foot in reality.

Spider-Man is and has always been about the kid that loves comics. This is what happens in a world where a kid looks up to the Fantastic Four, makes fun of his villians goofy outfits, and is smart enough to stay alive.

Superman is a parable about what we should all strive to be. Protectors of peace, antagonists of evil, and helpers of our fellow man. No matter what personal differences we have, we must put aside our individuality and embrace our destiny.

I've only collected two characters, therefore:

#1. The Batman
#2. Spider-Man

if only they were on the same publisher, beit DC or Marvel.
I'd enjoy the x-over possibilites, the great cameos:

Batman vs. The Green Goblin
Bats & Spidey vs. Doctor octopus & Mr. Freeze
Spidey vs. Bane
Bats& Spidey vs. The Riddler & Mysterio
Spidey vs. Scarecrow
Bats & Spidey vs. Ra's al Ghul
Joker & Harley vacation to NYC!!!
Batman vs. Electro
Spidey vs. The Mad Hatter
Spidey vs. Two-Face
Batman vs. The Lizard
Spidey vs. Poison Ivy

In no real order....

Daredevil: This guy is an EVEN MORE human version of Batman to me. Still has the dark, brooding hero angle, but instead of being a millionaire, Matt Murdock returns to his apartment after patrol. I can really identify with what both Matt and Daredevil go through.

Spider-Man: The original everyman, no? What more can I say that hasn't already been said?

The Flash: Barry Allen version, 'cause he's much more like me. This guy's easily my favorite hero of all time. He did good, but he had his faults. He was constantly late for everything, for example. I don't know, there's always been something that appealed to me about the guy.

Oracle: Always been a big fan. She's just such a tragic character, yet she continues to move forward. I think she's just amazing in all respects.

The Hulk: This one's weird 'cause I've never really been a huge fan. But the more I thought about it the more I can totally identify with the guy. I mean, there are times when I have that "inner Hulk" thing and in some ways you just wanna lash out, y'know? Good ol' meditation techniques :D
