The first two cartoons are the best of the whole series. :D

My 2 favorites are probably 2 late period entries in the series: "Hopalong Casualty" and "Zoom at the Top". Yes, these shorts move at a somewhat slower pace than the others (the steel trap gag in ZATT is probably the slowest moving, yet most suspenseful, scene in the whole series) but these shorts are nonetheless very enjoyable. Also the "Earthquake Pills" routine in "Hopalong..." is one of my favorite Road Runner/Coyote bits of all time.

HONORABLE MENTION: "Sugar and Spies". This is probably my favorite of the DePatie-Freleng bunch; a very energetic score by Walter Greene. My favorite of the Rudy Larriva-directed ones is "Highway Runnery" with "Out and Out Rout" up there too.

I love ALL of them, even the Larriva shorts. If I had to pick only a few highlights though:
"Gee Whizzz" is probably the best...but I also love "Zipping Along", (the end gag with Wile E. imitating the Road runner) and "The Wild Chase".

"Fast & Furry-ous" - The cartoon that launched the
series and all the ingredients for success are there.

"Going! Going! Gosh!" - Great gags, especially the
painted backdrop on edge of cliff.

"Scrambled Aches" - Moodier music than usual and some
inventive gags. Steam roller and cannon, dehydrated
boulders, coiled spring.

"Whos Be-Gone" - Trampolene and tornado seeds gags.

"Hopalong Casualty" - Earthquake Pills.

"Lickety-Splat!" - Extended bit involving the darts
descending on Coyote during his other schemes.

"Rushing Roulette - Love everything about this cartoon.
Music, visuals, gags, everything. And the fact it's a
first, a McKimson-directed Road Runner.

"Tired and Feathered" - Interesting Larriva Road Runner
with an elaborate scheme at end. Love the music.

"Out and Out Rout" - Larriva Road Runner very much in
the Jones mold but with some unusual ploys.

"The Solid Tin Coyote" - Ambitious plot and excellent
design work.

"Sugar and Spies" - McKimson Road Runner again
enjoyable. Love the music.

Least favs.

"Hook, Line, and Stinker" - Canned music and
uninteresting gags.

"Fastest With the Mostest" - Too slow. Gags not
very funny and go on for what seems like an eternity.

"War and Pieces" - Jones' Coyote design is
becoming too scrawny and too tall. Chinese Road
Runner gag a reused one from "Tweety & Beanstalk".
Music grates.

"Chaser On the Rocks" - Difficult Larriva Road Runner
to appreciate. Storyline just doesn't do it for me.

"Just PLane Beep" - One too many gadget ideas. This one
is just too bizarre and goes on thru whole cartoon.

"Soup or Sonic" - Dreadful character design and music.
But then it was made along with two of the most
unappealing Bugs Bunnies ever in the BB's Busting Out
All Over TV special. Gags might have worked better had
cartoon been made 20 years earlier.
