I was wondering if someone could please explain all the packages of cartoons Warner Brothers offered to theaters and what each package would have contained. Particularly what they offered between 1944 and 1957. I can't see WB selling Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies as separate series after this time.
My guess after what I've read here and elsewhere is they had three regular packages of cartoons after 1944 or so:
Bugs Bunny Specials (most expensive): All the Bugs cartoons and other various character cartoons to even it out.
Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies: Cartoons with all characters except for Bugs Bunny
Blue Ribbon Classics (least expensive): Reissued cartoons, no Bugs Bunnys.
Is this a good guess? Any answers are greatly appriciated.
