[indent]Don't shoot the messenger, but the online Cartoon Network schedule updated overnight and instead of Outlaw Star this Saturday is another episode of Pilot Candidate. Outlaw Star returns after July's month of ASA marathons. The July 27th marathon which previously was 5 episodes of Cowboy Bebop followed by Pilot Candate is now a full 3 hours of Cowboy Bebop. The episode "Brain Scratch" takes PC's place.

Makes little sense to me, but atleast glad that they put one of my favorite Bebop stand alones on the marathon...

I don't want ONE PC to begin with...but I don't watch (or like) Outlaw Star, so no biggie. But the guys at CN need to get Pilot Candidate over on Toonami, where it belongs.

No, they need to take it off the air and bury it in the bowels of Hades, where it belongs. Toonami fans would be mortified if it aired there as originally planned.

Hmm...I think you're right, Behonkiss. Besides, the average Toonami audience wouldn't even watch PC unless they said "From the Country that brought you Dragon Ball Z" in the promos.

LOL! :D
Anyway, it looks like they're pretty adamant about PC finishing its run by a certain date. I hope this means that they plan to replace it with Big O or something when it finishes its run.

Oh you mean bad as in: put cadets in the robotech ship, made bland character personalities like NGE has, and stuck goddesses in from ah my goddess to make it eerie. They added as well as the annoying gundam commentating at the end, but, with a goddess. They also stuck a escaflowne similiar cat girl as well as somebody resembling fuu, and washu in it. They made Zero look like Heero Yuy and have flashbacks. Finally to top it off they changed Zion to Zeon, loaded the same NGE docking bay, and had short physical fighting sequences like gundam.
That kind of bad? ;)

Pretty much, except for the Zion/Zeon thing. Zion is actually taken for the Bible (an attempt to give it the religious overtones ala Evangelion, no doubt) whereas Zeon is just some random word the creators of Gundam came up with.

umm... no.
...made bland character personalities like NGE has...
Now, there's someone who hasn't taken classess in creativity/writing. No offence. Now, I haven't seen NGE, but the blandness of the charecters, wellit dependson if you think a character with an ambition is bland. Or maybe a character with an attitude? Or a charater that has the ability to sense what is going on with other people? Personally, I'don't think the charaters are bland, read my latest post in "Defence of Pilot Candidate" for more.
...and stuck goddesses in from ah my goddess to make it eerie.
Most likely, Pilot Candidate is an origanal idea, it is not derived from any other anime. A little known fact that some ASA fans know is that the origanal title is Megami Kouhosei, translated that is Candidate for Goddess.
They also stuck a escaflowne similiar cat girl as well as somebody resembling fuu, and washu in it.
Umm... Kizna (repairer with cat ears) is an original idea. Information about why Kizna has cat ears is in the upcoming spolier:
Kizna has cat ears due to an acident on her colony. The acident caused her to loose her hearing. To regain her hearing, she had to have cat ears implanted on her head.
I don't know about this Fuu charater, but the charatcr you refer to as looking like Washu from the Tenchi series is also a coincidence. I don't think the creator of Pilot Candidate watched several shows of anime and picked and chose what charaters he wanted to copy, nice try.
They made Zero look like Heero Yuy and have flashbacks.
and Tai Kamyia from Digimon, Spike Speigel from Coyboy Bebop, Akito Tenkawa from Nadesico, Daisuke Niwa from DNAngel (which is another series that the creator of Pilot Candidate made), Carrot Glaces from Bakuretsu Hunters, Van Fanel from Escaflowne, ect. Just go to this site (www.satinflame.net/resuko/megami/main.html) and use the jump to box, click on "Stuff" Go to "look alikes" and click on Zero, you'll come to this excact list (not in order and I dropped one because I didn't think he would be a good example, there's no info on him anyway.) What I'm trying to say is that you're making a useless argument there.
Finally to top it off they changed Zion to Zeon, ...
Totaly wrong. The spelling as per offical translation is "Zion".
The rest of your post, DarkMaster, I can't comment on because I haven't seen the shows you have referenced.
Thanks for your opinon,

I think bland wasn't the word he was going for. I think he was going for something more like trite or played-out. The fact is that the characters are not only stereotypical for an anime show, but even single desire and driving force has been seen in another, older show, and it's been done better there.

First, every episode has had that on the title screen, so I doubt that it's a "little known fact." Second, it only original in the way it combines Oh My Goddess! with Gundam or Macross, which aren't original in and of themselves, really.
As far as the character designs go, you're right. No one can be pissed about characters looking alike. Anime has a definitive style to it, and that stops animators from doing anything more than adding a slight, unnoticable, personal touch to their art. It's the art which restricts them in the first place. I mean it wouldn't be anime if it looked like Gumby or PPG...
On the other hand, PC is still more deserving of an AS slot than an edited Tenchi or Outlaw Star.

When I said "little known fact" I meant "little reckonized fact" but also, and you'll probably agree to this, but a lot of people don't even try to pick up on things in the show, or interpret things.

While I don't agree on the Pilot Candidate being more deserving of a slot than Outlaw Star (I think they are equal in that respect) I do thank you for the kind words.
And so...

As long as Outlaw Star remains edited for Toonami, PC will be more deserving.

Like I said in the thread, "Defence of Pilot Candidate" you have your right to an opinon.
We're likely seeing multiple episodes so the show's last episode coincides with the last saturday and august and we can see a new ASA show in September.

I checked the schedule at Cartoon Network.com, and apparently there is another change I found out about that you probably haven't.
This Saturday Night, there will be a 3-Hour block of "Yuyu Hakusho". AND, CN will continue the series from where it left off this past Saturday, so nothing will be missed.
Something I need to mention: Remember last week when I mentioned about a schedule change in which "ASA" dropped "Outlaw Star" from their lineup? I was wrong.
After figuring things out, I determined that the "ASA" block was still stuck in the "Tenchi" warp. You see, someone at CN probably didn't realize "Tenchi" wasn't airing anymore, so because of a slight glitch, instead of "Outlaw Star" and "Pilot Candidate", CN erroneously had two "Pilot Candidate" eps.
Further explanation: Two "Tenchi Muyo" eps are double-length eps, and apparently, it was probably the week in which, if "Tenchi Muyo" had still been in the package, would have been the first of those two double-length eps rerun.
I apologize for jumping to the wrong conclusion about the "Outlaw Star"/"Pilot Candidate" schedule situation of a couple weeks earlier. :bosko:
Ugh. Can we PLEASE make color tag abuse a bannable offense? Someone?

Apparently a lot of people don't appreciate Toon Zone's vB Enhancements as much as I do! After all, the colors should be suitable enough to dazzle the postings, and emphasize characters, series, and episodes you care enough about!
I'd suggest going for full-color postings on all the ToonZone boards by all the ToonZone message posters. It could give your postings some major upgrading.
"Adult Swim", "Toonami", "Termite Terrace", "Entertainment Board"......all those that I post on, with Toon Zone's vB Enhancement Codes, it adds ambience to the postings. However, they do slow down your posting a bit because of the Enhancements, but if it gives you the results you like, GO FOR IT ALL THE TIME!!!
ToonZone doesn't have these Enhancements for nothing, you know. So why not spice up your postings in a grand way!
"Yuyu Hakusho" Marathon Saturday Night!!
Listen, color tags are fine, but when every other word has a color tag, and they're used in a such a clashing manner that I want to tear my eyes out to stop the bleeding, then I consider that spam.
Fine line, perhaps....

beond a fine line, it is down right annoying to even look at, color tag the whole paragraph or a few words with ONE color not all of them, it is hard to read...........geez.........
they didnt show 2 this past week though.......

We know, I wish they did though.
Anyway, please, for the sake of my vision, lay off the color tags! I'm already starting to go blind, I don't need the color tag fiasco like on WBC.
The two being shown back-to-back this past weekend was a scheduling error on the fault of the CN online people, who assumed that the AS programmers would keep a schedule once they changed it (since two weeks back there were two PCs), but they only needed one weekend of back-to-back PCs to have it wrap up conveniently the last weekend in August, the way it is now. Anyway, topic completed.
