Just got this in my E-mail from www.sputnik7.com

Stay tuned in July for sputnik7's online debut of GAINAX Studios and Production I.G.'s Evangelion: Death and Rebirth. This Fall, we bring you the real ending at The End of Evangelion.

I can't wait I can finally see the ending. Of course this could only be fully enjoyed if you have broadband. For more info visit www.deathandrebirth.com

I really wouldn't get too excited about seeing Death and Rebirth it's basicly like episode 25 of the T.V series with just added animation but it still kinda sums up the past episodes. Its strange though I can't find any offical links to Gainax's website on that site which seems slightly fishy even though the DvD is being clearly promoted, my only idea is that they just made a seperate site without bothering to do any links and stuff. If you've seen the series all you really need to see for the alternate ending is End of Evangelion.

Yes, but I believe there is "new material" in Rebirth that leads into End of Evangelion. It's been a while since I saw it, but while Death was just a flashback movies, Rebirth, IIRC, picked up some of the threads left off in episode 24.

Are the Eva movies coherent? I'm still confused about the last 4 episodes of the series, so if the movie is coherent and tells the end of the story I might be interested in buying it.

Death&Rebirth is at least as coherent as Tampopo, or Pulp Fiction. It's probablly more linear than both of them, but that's not saying much.

Never really liked Death and Rebirth myself. Bought a fansub of it several years ago which I watched a couple of times and then recorded over a few months later.

Hey, new season 2 episodes of Beast Wars were coming up and I ran out of blank tapes. :p

End of Evangelion, on the other hand, is a movie I really enjoyed and still have my copy of. But they're both movies that Eva fans should check out atleast once. They're interesting, to say the least.

No. The final part, End of Eva, is really the same thing, but with prettier animation and sexual imagery. And more violence.

...atleast they make an effort to explain some of the stuff in them (Lance, Eva Series) though and provide competant music instead of the 8000th Fly Me To the Moon remix. :p
