Part 1 is Pikachu's Hide and Seek... We meet 3 new Pokemon: Kakureon, a mix of a chamelon and a Muppet. I saw two of these in one of the eps I got last week. Hoeruko, a whale-looking Pokemon. And Ruriri, the pre-evolution of "Marill". The stills show the evolved form of "Snubbull", "Wobbuffet", Meowth, "Totodile", some greenish pokemon with a horn on his head(what do you mean I should've played the English G/S games?), "Oddish", Togepi, Koduck, Hinorashi (G/S fire starter), "Sandshrew", Donphan, "Bulbasaur"... and a lawnmower that causes much of the trouble for Pika-tachi.

Here's a summary of part 2: "Celebi A Timeless Encounter":

It sounds sort of shouen ai-y in places with "Ash" and "Sam"

The movie included a 15 second preview for a Pokemon 2002, btw. :) :)

I was hoping to see Misty finally confront her feelings for her two male companions and choose between them...and although I got a bit lost trying to follow the summary, it doesn't look like there's a lot of Team Rocket as compared with the first two movies. Not a lot of dodginess, either, unless I overlooked something...maybe the franchise is losing its edge. I hope not. I mean, I'd like to see some character growth and resolution when the series ends. The heroes find love, Jessy gets committed, James--???, and Meowth and Tracey fight for an internship with Prof. Oak....

Sorry Belch but the whole Misty loving Ash stuff was mayde up by 4Kids and not TV Tokyo. Tv Tokyo said that Ash and Misty's relationship was more as a Brother and Sister rather than as lovers. With Nintendo's plans I don't see Pokémon dieing anytime soon but I do beleve that Jessie and James would find love and Meowth will either become the family cat or he will be out there and find happyness in some shape or form. A good way for the seres to end is to end Team Rocket (either by Ash or by Mewtwo) by killing Giovanni and the organisation to split.

PS I didn't think Team Rocket had a big part in Pokémon 3 either.

I hoped Team Rocket would not have a part in the newer movies at all. After only 155 TV episodes, I already feel annoyed when they arrive.

Pokemon is a never-ending type series where the character relationships don't particularly grow. Lots of things are suggested, but it's like those old comedies where they milk a gag throughout the series. Kinda like the Nyles-Daffney thing in Frasier that seemed to last forever...but they eventually hooked up, so that kind of kills my example.

Or we could say that it's like Charlie Brown missing the football Lucy holds out every year...wait, Schultz did suggest that he kicked her football in the last year...it was a weird strip...she had to go take a call and Rerun held the football for him instead.

Okay, or how about Archie perpetually stuck between Betty and Ronnie?

The movies generally are more serious, and (judging by how P2K seems to have never happened to the heroes in the "'Jigglypuff' vs. 'Articuno'" ep- possibly a separate continuity). I sorta got a shouen ai-vibe from Yukinari (dub name should be Sam or Sammy) and "Ash", which is an odd variation on both Shishi and whatever you call "Oak"/"Mrs. Ketchum"...

And with that, here's my concept for a Pokemovie...

Starts off with the Pokemon Collector intently researching something, while a news program is on a tv within earshot. We hear bits of how "Giovanni" was removed from the gym leader post in "Viridian City" because of his Rocket connections leaking out ("It's rumored that he may well be the mysterious leader of the organization, but 'Officer Jenny' is keeping it under wraps until a full investigation is completed. In the meantime, none other than 'Gary Oak' will be running the gym..." This news makes the Collector tense. No doubt "Giovanni" will be putting extra effort into pursuing rare pokemon like Mew, using manpower that the PC just doesn't have. Some verbal commands to the comp we saw in P2K, and the search is changed... The PC figures an ally with various experiences in pokemon study and battle is the kind of thing that might well give him the edge over the Rocket leader.

Then, we get the whole 'theme song over battle animation' bit. Everyone's a few years older... and today is the day "Ash" challenges the "Elite 4". Whether it's the version from the G/S/C games, or a mix-up to include some members from the R/B/G/Y versions (like "Prima"/"Lorelei")- it's still the top group of Pokemon trainers, and victory means being named Pokemon Master. Things of note: "Misty" and "Brock" are pretty close, as they cheer on their friend. TR show up in bad disguises. "Tracey" seems nervous when "Koga" shows up as one of the opponents.

And that's pretty much what it's about. Some of the G/S game with older versions of the characters comes into play... As does the background of "Tracey"... And the remmants of the TR organization square off against the Pokemon Collector for Mew and cause a big mess for "Ash-co", the regular TR trio and Mewtwo to clean up.

Or the Coyote always trying to catch the Road Runner, or Brain always trying to take over the world, except those things happened, oh, I try to come up with examples but I'm getting the same problems you are. *sigh*

Toss in something that ties up some loose ends on Jessy and Ash --friends and allies? lovers? half-brother and sister?--and I'm sold.

Regarding unrequited love--well, it has to end somehow. Either the other person realizes and reciprocates, the pining lover finds someone else, or he/she is committed for stalking. Look at that Urkel kid and Laura--even they eventually became lovers, didn't they, after about ten million seasons, a couple of recasts, and a network change? And Lois and Superman eventually quit dancing around the issue of their feelings in "Legacy", and maybe even Bruce Wayne will feel secure enough to commit, if we consider Beyond only one of many roads. For the record, I think Archie and Betty should be together. Trust me, Ronnie's no good; I've gotten involved with a couple of upper-class girls, and they're too g.d. high-maintenance. So as far as Pokemon ending and the characters growing, I think it could be done either as a two-part episode or a movie--unrequited love finds closure, Team Rocket reforms (note that James and Meowth seem less venemous without Jessy, and even she has made noises about giving up crime, but isn't sure what she'd do in life without it, almost like an abused wife who's scared to go and afraid to stay), and Giovanni either retires or dies.

I'd go for the first myself. "Ash" isn't the most patient person around, but he seems to have a determination to seek/bring out the good in others. If anyone's going to help 'Jessie' out, I think it'll be him. I dunno- this is looking more and more like a fanfic.

The second movie and the 2nd ep with the B/C Rocket duo seemed to indicate that our regular Rockets are more successful/motivated???? on the heroes' side. And if there's one thing I get from the BC eps, "Mewtwo Lives" and the P4 summary... "J&J" seem to not get along too well with Rocket members that have better track records- and wind up help foiling their plans in some way or another... How often are they real serious threats to begin with?

Jessie will never turn good. Based on the TV episode The Stun Spore Detour, only James has the chance. Ash would never help one of his enemies, even if it would be to turn that person around.

Then it must be really clean. I have a hard time imagining you overlooking anything with even a vague, distant, twice-removed relationship to anything remotely dodgy.
