What's My Lion - The terrible post-Bryant Fudd voice ruins this cartoon, otherwise its above average for a post-1960 cartoon.

Chips Off the Old Block - Interestingly, this has the same type of original opening music and opening titles as "Blitz Wolf." Also has "Buy War Bonds" in the closing title. Apparently, MGM never reissued this in the 50's. Otherwise, it's average late H-I fare...

The Timid Toreador - Surprised this cartoon is shown, given the Speedy Gonzoles ban and fears over Mexican stereotypes.

Innertube Antics - One of the Gordon cartoons, made after Rudy Ising left MGM. This one is played often on CN. A fuddy duddy Donkey Dude wrestles with a rubber innertube in a rubber drive during WWII. Similar cartoons where characters conflict with inanimate objects: "Good Night Elmer," "The Bird Came COD" (sic?).

Now Hear This - Chuck Jones tribute to Treg Brown. This really reflects the UPA influence on Jones. (Hey, he worked with them in 1944 in "Hell Bent for Election") A little overboard for some, but still good fun.

I've been seeing this this phrase more and more on the internet: (sic?)

What does (sic?) mean?

Usually, it means that the spelling of the preceding word might be incorrect. It's used if the person isn't sure of the spelling, or if you quote someone else who misspelled a word. I'm guessing it's short for Spelling InCorrect?

The title What's My Lion? is a spoof of the phrase What's My Line?

As already pointed out, Innertube Antics seems to get more airtime than it should on Cargoon Networm.

What's My Lion? (WB)
Did this mountain lion remind anyone else of a more intelligent Pete Puma? Note that the spicy sauces Fudd pours on the steak seems to absorb into the meat very quickly. The ending with all the heads turning out to be real animals hiding from hunters is reminiscent of a Tweety short in a hotel with a "NO PETS ALLOWED" sign....

Chips Off The Old Block (MGM)
The look on the cat's face when he sees how much the kids look like him got me. It said, "How drunk was I on New Year's Eve?"

The Timid Toreador (WB)
Agree with bushnader666; I'm surprised this one got past the P.C. police. There's a censor somewhere sneaking off to the john with his bribe in a bottle, I'm sure of it!

Popeye's Premiere
The cheater material was funnier than the redrawn added stuff. What ever happened to the actor who played the villain in the picture, I wonder? The "salami" gag with the Negro caricature is still intact. The Freudian shape of the limo and the way it points up at the sky is so wrong....

Innertube Antics (MGM)
Overplayed? I haven't seen it since I was a kid. I always got a hoot out of how that little inner tube was just the tip of the iceberg--looks like the neighbor built his yard over a landfill and never knew it.

Now Hear This (WB)
Really trippy. A lost devil's horn is mistaken for an ear trumpet and causes a man no end of trouble. No dialogue; everything is sound effects. The bit where the telephone booth becomes a shower especially got me....

I can assume that Popeye's Premiere is still a whopping 10 minutes. When cartoons are too long, I am less likely to enjoy them.

The title Chips off the Old Block is a well-known phrase with an added letter.

Now Hear This was the latest classic WB cartoon to receive an award nomination.
