Favorite "Shooter" Video Game

Well, hopefully you've already guessed what this thread is about. If not... you're slow. So, what's your favorite shooter game (Games like GoldenEye 007, Red Faction, or even Doom)? I'd definetly go with Halo for X-Box. Great game, great graphics, and sweet weapons. I've also taken a shine to Medal of Honor: Frontline lately. I haven't had as much fun killing Nazis since Wolfenstein 3D came out back in the proverbial day. Well, now's the time where you post about your favorite murder simulator. So go!

The only shooters I've ever liked were Virtua Cop 1 & 2 and House of the Dead 2. So I guess you could call those my favorite by default.

Halo is a FPS. big difference.
my favorite 'shooters' are Einhander, Gigawing, 1942, and the ever-so-great-generic arcade games you find in pizza palors and other restaurants (like Radien II)
as for FPS', id go with Unreal Tournament, Half Life (CS included) and good-ol Doom II.

I've always liked "Blazing Lazers"... though I am getting a kick out of "Project S-11" for Gameboy color that I got really cheap at KBtoys.

HotD2 kicks ass.

I would have to say that the original Medal of Honor is my favorite of all time, but not to say that it's descendants aren't cool.

AvP2 is cool. The flamethrower is easily the most satifying weapon I've ever used in a game. It's pitch black, I hear hissing, I back myself into a corner and say "Come on in, Ol' Painless is waitin'"

RtCW is pretty cool cause you actually get to knife Nazis. I'm gonna find me a Nazi and stick my knife in 'em...

Rainbow Six and all of its descendants (Sum of All Fears and Ghost Recon included) are power-cool.

Anyone ever try the mod out for Haf-Life, Day of Defeat? It's an entire MP based game set in WWII. I liked the Beta 1.3 more than the stuff they have out now.

Depends on your definition of "shooter". Here are my favorites:

FPS: "Wolfenstein 3D", "Turok: Rage Wars"
Airplane Shooters: "Gairares", "Aero Fighters 2", "R-Type", Anything that has the name "Gradius" in it.
First Person Airplane Shooter: "Decent"
Gun Shooter: "Lucky 'n Wild", "Virtua Cop 2", Area 51 Site 4"

Sure! It's my thread, so I decree it so. And in light of all the other "shooter" categories that have popped up, I'll re-do my favorites:

FPS: Halo (X-Box), Medal of Honor: Frontline (PS 2, PC), Perfect Dark (N64)

Aerial Shooter Rouge Leader (GC), X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter (PC)

Gun Shooter: House of the Dead 2 (AC), Area 51 (AC)

You should play ti with the system link cable ... you can link 2 of the beasts together with 2 tv's and play 8 player!

Perfect Dark and Goldeneye. The two best FPS I've ever played. They're also on my list of the best games ever. Hopefully Metroid Prime will be just as good. From the looks of it, I won't have to worry about that.
