Still confused with POTA? A website has posteda timeline to try and get it better explained. I totally get the ending now.

I have yet to go to that link, but I thought of something when I first saw that title on the thread...Have you noticed that after you watch the final film in the original POTA series, you could just as easilly go back to the first movie and watch it as the sequel to Battle for the Planet of the Apes? I know the film makers did not originally design the movies this way, but they have this kind of complete circle feel to them.

And here I thought Leo either landed in some wacky parallel dimension in the end. But after reading that time line my personal theory is that the storm/worm hole throws everything into the future and thus the pods and the Oberon landed on earth in the future (just like the original, sorta). That would explain why the hell there were horses on the planet when there weren't any on the ship/station. Then when Leo tries to go back in time to get home he's just sent farther into the future. As for the other moons/planets seen in orbit of the POTA that could either be seen as an effect of the wormhole/storm.

Still it was a fun movie and IMO it had a better origin for the talking apes. Well a better origin than what was in the original movie series, and even then they tossed out that explanation by the fourth movie.

Well, I just watched the movie yesterday, and on the timeline, there is a mistake. Leo originally left from the year 2029, not 2099, like it says on that POTA timeline. Now, I didn't know that was Thade as the memorial. I guess I should have paid more attention to the end. Woah, was that ending freaky!

I noticed that too, but didn't really think much of it. I think it's a pretty good timeline, and definatly makes sense. THis makes me wanta sequel more and more.

This movie was horrid and everyone I saw it with agrees with me. After viewing the timeline, I understand the ending. But I still think that the whole idea was stupid.

Well everyone has their own agreements. Like or dislike, at least the timeline makes sense!
