Does anyone else feel that, perhaps, we're getting too many boards around here at Toonzone?
On one hand, yes I understand that this might be much easier for Mods. I once asked a Mod awhile back, when Anitainment & Cafe were first created, & he simply told me "It's just getting to difficult to keep track of everything". So, from a Mod's POV, I understand that dividing up the boards like this gives them a much easier time keeping track of everything, as well as making sure the riff-raffs are under control.
And, I also need to say, a 'General Anime' board might be necessary, as the Adult Swim & Toonami boards are 'plagued' by off-topic posts about random anime. Sure, they may start out as "would this be a good anime for....", but eventually they all degenerate into something about any random anime. I know the Mods at AS & Toonami have all seen this, and I know that at least the AS board is cracking down on it. And, I also understand that a lot of people around here, who enjoy discussing anime, simply don't feel the WBC-General Discussion board is the right place for Anime discussion, or it's just not an appropriet place. Either way, I will say, it seems a General Anime Board might be necessary in the future, but I'll leave that up to TZ.
BUT, on the other hand, we have had several board additions, and board 'splits' in the past several months. Perhaps this has caused a slow-down in discussion in various places? Honestly, I will say that It was easier to just have that "Misc.-General Discussion" board, where I could talk about movies, cartoons, anime, politics, and random stuff, all in one place. BUT, of course that's a LOT of stuff for Mods to manage. That is something we all NEED to understand. So, I understand why they split everything up. But, sometimes it seems things are expanding so much, that other things are being left behind? We had the Anitainment board, but eventually, Movie/music stuff grew so much, it needed it's own board. So, animation got added with WBC, and I understand many people feel less comfortable, because the general animation discussion is draining out the classic Warner Bros discussion, which that board was created for in the first place. And video game discussion has suddenly burst out so much in the Cafe, that it seems it needs its own board soon. Also, as I mentioned before, Anime topics are getting various boards way off topic. I do understand the importance of these extra boards, and the possible addition of various others, but, does anyone else feel there might be to many?
Are we having a Board Overload?
