In the strange, virtually timeless existance that is the entropy of Frozen Space (ie, I don't see much TV...), I have yet to see ANYTHING about Enterprise. I love the original Star Trek show, and related movies, but I haven't seen much else - I am, however, curious about this 'Enterprise' show - that's set before the original series, correct? Any aliens on board? And I'd heard that Scott Spatula (of Quantum Leap fame) is the captain - is that true? It'd be great to see him on TV again! What about the Klingons - are they the 'fusions' from the first shows, or the 'crinkle-cut foreheads' from The Slow Motion picture onwards? Presumably we won't see the Romulans either, as I believe Kirk and his crew were the first people to see Romulans, weren't they..?

So many questions... anybody have any answers?

I think if you go to startrek.com you should find some more info.

Bakula is Captain Archer, I think the name was. The action revolves around the proto-Federation, with one of the first Vulcan-Human mixed crews. The baddies, apparently, are time travellers (sigh). Crinkle-cut Klingons will be met in a botched first contact. Probably no Romulans, as you said. Universal translator is new and unreliable, transporters for cargo only, the ship is built like a submarine with deeper than it is long, unlike the last four shows.

It premieres on Yom Kippur.

And we ALL know when Yom Kippur is!

If Gene R. where still around I wonder what he'd think of Star Trek now.

September 26. The reason I remember is an Orthodox guy at another board complained he didn't feel he could even set his VCR to time-tape on the Day of Atonement. I suggested he call the local Starbase and see if he can get their tape afterwards, or maybe see the network feed for syndicated markets. A whole lot of people made good suggestions, but the last I heard he was still dithering.

Hmmm...Yom Kippur falls on my birthday this year! YAYYYYY!!!

As far as what Gene would think....who knows? He might be rather excited to see his franchise lasting this long, but it's hard to say how he would have reinvented it for the 21st century. I am sure he would have had to reinvent it, tho.
