Yes Clerks....the great show which aired but twice. Is sad. It was a fantastic show....anyway...the purpose of this thread:
Do you AdultSwim "vets" think that CartoonNetwork could ever pick up this 6 episode wonder of a show for their great AdultSwim block? That would be sweet...but is it possible? I see that CartoonNetwork seems to have some sort of partnership with WB. Since ABC owns the rights of Clerks, will it ever be possible? Eh?

Thats a good idea, but sadly CN wouldn't do it. It would be even better if Kevin Smith and Chris Bailey could continue making episodes on AS. We can only dream.... :)

Could we possibly put all the "Family Guy/Clerks/Duckman/etc. on AS" in one thread as a sticky? or just add them to the "Posts that will be closed/deleted"? These topics have been abused so much that I'm thinking of calling the cops.

Oh come on,you know you love it. ;)
I actually have a buddy that grew up in New Jersey and went to High School with Kevin Smith...
They still talk pretty frequently, and I've gotten to meet Kevin several times (I even had him come to my college, Tulane, to promote Dogma and give a fan Q&A back when I was still there).
I bet if Kevin saw what kind of AWESOME shows made it onto ASC, he might try to work something out with Williams Street. I know he REALLY wanted a long-running Clerks animated series, and still has the Clerks animated movie on the back-burner...
I'll see what I can do =)

If you check previous clerks threads, you'd see a rumor that Season 2 of Clerks is in production. But not for AS as far as we know.

thats a great idea. i very much so enjoyed the show. shows like Clerks and Downtown and Dilbert deserve somke respect... maybe if AS played them... the play they deserve... they would get that respect. there all really good shows.

Might as well throw The Critic on the pile... that made it from ABC to Fox to Comedy Central to (last I checked) some Flash-based Internet site. Like it or hate it, you have to admire its persistence.
Really. You HAVE to. It's Martian Law. :bosko:

I've been to one of those Kevin Smith Q&As, LOL. Three plus hours of Kevin talking about EVERYTHING.
At the time we saw him, it was still up in the air as to when/if ABC was showing the Clerks series. Because of Disney relations with Dogma, at he time, he sounded willing to take the show anywhere they could. Also, he wasn't even really working on anything at the time. Dogma hadn't came on video yet, & he showed us a very different cut of the locked in freezer episode.
As for now, my guess'd be he wouldn't be working on a clerk series now. The latest filmography on J&SBSB claims two pictures & an animated Clerks movies between 2002-2003, if it's not a hoax, LOL.
The series looks to have ran its' little thing, & be a DVD success, so it may not ever be on TV again.
Well Kevin is currently working on Jersey Girl, his first movie WITHOUT Jay & Silent Bob... should be very good. Imagine the seriousness of Chasing Amy except about raising a kid.
He has planned to do a Clerks animated movie, but I think he'd rather see it go back into a TV series again... I saw some of the early scripts for the rest of season one, and it was REALLY amazing stufff...
Try to imagine the great humor of Simpsons series one, but with the excellent Korean animation of Clerks (who's driving car? OH MY GOD, BEAR IS DRIVING CAR, HOW CAN THAT BE?!?!? ;>) AND much funnier jokes (if you're into Kevin Smith humor).
I was personally amazed that he censored himself as well as he did with the Clerks show. If ABC/Disney didn't hate him and Dogma the way they did, we would likely still have it on the air. I mean, more people watched the Clerks episodes than the amount of people who bought movie tickets to Clerks the movie, Mallrats and Chasing Amy COMBINED.
