I thought that was a good one. I have seen an uncut colorized copy of "Porky at the Crocadero", but I never thought the would show it again uncut in any form, I was surprised to see this one! Not that a Cab Calloway caricature is anything, but there's that other gag....in case CN's watching us I won't say. I hadn't seen "Notes To You' in black and white, or if I have it's been a long time. it's just better in that form, I HATE the colorized version, the cat just ain't s'posed ta be BROWN in the face. That was an interesting Popeye cartoon, "Blunder Below", because it had Popeye actually on a ship with other sailors, in WWII, yet! what was edited, Japanese jokes, I'd assume?

Most likely cut in "Blunder Blow" was shots of the Japanese flag and some caricatures. However, we still get the Japanese raising their flag at the end, and the rising sun sinks down, and is now a surrender flag.

Porky at the Crocadero aired uncut in B&W on the 04/02/2001 edition of LNB&W.

After the sub fired torpedoes at Popeye, a Japanese stereotype poked his head out and said "So solly!". After the sub dodged the thrown-back torpedoes, he popped out and said it again, only this time Popeye punched him right in his buck teeth. Listen for the abrupt jumps in the music.

That should have aired uncut. Especially after Cargoon Networm blamed World War 2 mainly on the Germans...

Yep, I'm amazed they even bothered with that...

I didn't know that I Wish I Had Wings would air on LNB&W. I thought it was a rare treat seeing it on Acme Hour. Of course, any B&W cartoon is a treat on Acme Hour...

In all, it was a good show. At least I now have an uncut B & W print of "Porky at the Crocadero". I would have added "Blunder Below" to my collection had it not been severely edited. I remember seeing this one in the 1970s and 1980s here in Chicago. You can tell where the edits occured by the quick jumpcuts in the soundtrack. How lame!:(

My first thought when I saw Blunder Below (while I was online yet!) was, Oh my God, I should've had a tape in there! I've needed that one for YEARS (and I taped from old LNB&Ws and the B&B Christmas marathon, plus color Popeyes elsewhere - almost all with Olive with her old hair - to make a series of Popeye tapes so I could have the early '70s back, as it were).
Then my thought was, Oh, $#!*, they edited the thing anyway! I noticed the jumps in music, plus Popeye saying So Solly near the end, confirming that this was that cartoon. Atleast the flag bit was kept. Confidentially, it stinks when they edit where they don't edit. Yeesh!

I didn't watch Blunder Below, but I probably would not have noticed the edits. I don't usually notice edits. I usually notice them only after hearing about it on this board.
