Well it looks like former Superman writer and upcoming writer for the Batman/Superman comic Jeph Loeb will also be serving as a consulting producer for the second season of Smallville.
Given Jeph's love for the Superman character and his incredible story telling ability I think Season 2 of Smallville will continue to turn heads and add to the growing legend of young Clark Kent, Lana Lang and Lex Luthor. Looking forward to Season 2 even more now.

Very cool. I bet that a lot of Superman fans will be glad to here that, especially if they don't like Smallville that much so far. I would think that having Loeb involved in some way in this series should definetly improve that amount of people who watch the show.

Wow!
and who said the WB's not smart enuff to think of hiring a comic book writer to consult for a live action version of Superman?
Now if they can only get this trend to progress over to the big-screen Man of Steel we can all breathe a collective sigh of relief in knowing the movie would be in good hands too ;)

Actually WB has hired comic book writers to do some scripts for various comic-based projects. The two projects that comes to mind is Kevin Smith's "Superman Lives" script and Frank Miller's current "Batman: Year One" script that he is working on.

Pretty sure Loeb is taking over the helm of Batman once Brubaker takes over Detective Comics...just so you all are aware. Correct me if I am wrong.

Speaking of Batman and Loeb does anyone beside me feel like, with this news, the chances of Bruce Wayne showing up in Smallville looking a whole lot better now? :D :D
