OK -

here's the deal - poster lists names of song(s), respondents list the WB cartoon(s) in which the song was used.
Got it?

Sample: 'Michigan Rag' - 'One Froggy Evening' (it was the basis of the frog's name).

we will not mess with songs everyone should know (including our non-US correspondents). these are such as 'the lady in red', jimmy cracked corn', 'dixie' (proper name:'In Dixie's Land').etc.
(I WAS appalled that someone did NOT know 'Shuffle Off to Buffalo', but that is another matter...)

OK:

'Blues in the Night'

'It's Magic'

and, sense I cannot place it in a WB 'toon, this is a 'look it up for the hell of it - 'Teddy Bear's Picnic)

you can start here:

d

'on the whole, I'd rather be in Philadelphia'

(this is NOT on W.C.'s tombstone)

One line of "Blues In The Night" is sung in "Coal Black" and "Fifth Column Mouse"(sort of)

That's all I know.

"Teddy Bear's Picnic" was used in a Tiny Toon Adventures short with Elmyra and Chuck Jones' Bear family. "D-uh...next week, Pa's taking me hang-gliding!" Freberg reprised his role as Junior, but IMHO Frank Welker's take on Pa was too high and nasal. I would've cast the deeper-voiced Jim Cummings....

I was thinking classics, but, if 'Picnic' made an appearance in TT, let's include them...

Jack -

Correct! it also appeared in one of the Porky/Daffy 'toons (Boobs in the Woods, I think) as 'My mama done told me, when I was in kneepants...'

'It's Magic' - come on! used with title intact in 2 'toons - same lyrics!!! Hint: sung by Bugs...

In what other cartoon can you hear the music to the song sung in "Robin Hood Makes Good?"

Well, I know "Blues In the Night' is sung by the Cab Calloway rooster in "Swooner Crooner." "It's Magic", appears in "Rabbit Every Monday", but it also shows up in "Transylvania 6-5000', where Bugs makes up magic words such as "abracapocus" and sings them to that tune.

Now it's YOUR turn!

"Am I Blue"
"Open the door, Richard!"
"Sonata waltz'

I know "Blues in the Night" also appears in "Bugs Bunny Gets the Boid" ("A buzzard is two-faced..."). The Porky and Daffy cartoon where it appeared was "My Favorite Duck" (Daffy kept singing it, while Porky kept singing "Moonlight Bay").

"Sonata waltz'

Of the three:

I can recognize 'Am I Blue', but cannot place it - Bugs in drag, maybe? (this is a 'torch' song, for those who know the term, but not the song)

I found a snippit of 'open' at towerrecords.com (I always root for the home team - Tower was founded in SF in 1968 (eat your hearts out...)). Can't place it, either.

'Sonata Waltz' - cannot find a trace - know where I can hear it?

The opening to Beanstalk Bunny uses it! And don't forget, when Daffy meets "Giant" Elmer, the orchestration also is heard!:p

Yes, Crazy Tom is right! The main song from "Robin Hood Makes Good" was used in "Beanstalk Bunny!" That is why I always seem to think "Beanstalk Bunny" is based on Robin Hood, even though it's based on Jack and The Beanstalk.

I think the same gag is used in another cartoon. Possibly September in the Rain?

Just guessing...

And go figure...this is one of my all-time favorites. Besides, I think Chuck Jones was so clever in making a giant Elmer Fudd.

The giant Elmer Fudd might actually have more intelligence that the 1943 giant (See Jack-Wabbit...)

A giant Elmer Fudd was a good idea. It was interesting to see the giant act as a common character.

You can hear a few bars of it in "It's Hummertime", when the cat is preparing the balloon.
