Evangilion and the Bible.

I have noticed alot of religous allusions in Eva, not exclusive to but often revolving around the Bible. Theangelic refrences, the parralels between Daniel/Revelations, and my Brother seems to think that the very word Evangilion has to do with Evangalism. I haven't seen the thing myself, but from what I have seen of it there are alot of religous icons. Am I just crazy or what?

Yes, Evangelion has a lot of Bible references and stuff about the Dead Sea Scrolls. Most of this is used to creepy effect.

That's why it will never make it to TV.

i read on a website that the 4 evas were based on the 4 bastions of hell. does anybody know what the 4 bastions of hell are?

No, I don't. I know that Eva 01 was modelled after a Japanese demon...an "Oni," I think.
