Was the 10:30 episode of Home Movies the pilot?? If so, then I could see why people didn't like it on UPN or WB (or whatever channel it used to be on).
The Squigglevision was annoying at first, but I got used to it (I like the show without squiggle so far), and Brendon sounded like he had a runny nose. MCGuirk was cool as usual, and everyone else was just ok. The jokes were way too random for me to enjoy them all, but I did laugh a lot later into it.
So, in celebration of the randomness of this episode, I will say one quick offtopic thing: I'm glad Ally Mcbeal was cancelled.
Overall grade: B- (almost a C).
Baby Blues: When they mentioned South Park, I flipped over to Comedy Central and there was South Park. Thank you Baby Blues for directing me to a better show.
I saw Mission Hill last week and I thought it was good (although it seemed a little too mean-spirited). I have no problem watching another episode.

The first 5 episodes were mostly prototypes.
When Director's Cut started, the squigglevision improved, the writing improved, and the voices were lowered to the pitches we're all familiar with.

Home Movies - "The Wedding"
As the season finale to season 2, this was a really good one. Brendans "rash" was hilarious and Walter Perry as always.
A-
Home Movies - "Get Away From My Mom"
I liked this episode a lot more when it had it's adult swim debut probably back in September. I think the new flash animation has spoiled me and I just couldn't get into it as much as I used to. Still funny though.
B
Baby Bues
I've seen this episode twice before and I don't really like it. I decided to skip watching it for the third time to surf the web for a while while I wait for Baloonenstein.
C-
Aqua Teen Hunger Force
I love this episode, there's never really any evil being they have to fight but it's a really funny episode. DO what now?
B+
Sealab 2021
Pretty funny stuff, although this one was new not so long ago. Bucket-head Wendy is cool.
B
EDIT: Matt, I just saw the Yaffa commercial and realized where your sig came from. 1-800-GO-YAFFA

MISSION HILL
God, I love anything that makes fun of Japan. And so many people get it wrong, but Mission Hill was the first show to get it RIGHT. It's not ALL about big-eye people and broken english. It's also about wacky candy like "Anus Bar". And hot pants. Orange Friendly Frog is stylish this month.
Too bad there was no C plot, but the A and B were too important to have a third side plot running. The only negative to this episode was the "rousing speech" that somehow gets Kevin off the hook. I think that was a little.. unrealistic. But then again, in real life, the jury would've found the two goons guilty regardless of Kevin telling the truth.

Home Movies
seems that I can watch these repeats endlessly, like 5th season Simpsons. excellent music helps a lot. excellent performers and writers. thank you, Soup2nuts, for this delight
A
Baby Blues
all the characters on this show are pretty annoying.
is there a thinly-veiled child-hating sentiment about this show? parents=good, children=bad
B-
Aqua Teen Hunger Force
again, one of the most original cartoon shows in history.
Balloonstein: not one of the best episodes, but still satisfying.
the best episodes have villians that are great, original characters, like the Moonanites and MC Pee Pants.
A-
Sealab
closet: not one of the better episodes
B+
Mission Hill
this episode was better than the last two. and the characters may be growing on me.
the charm of the bizarre colors has completely worn off. now they're just nausea-inducing. they should be grittier and less Day-Glo.
B-
Space Ghost
two of the better episodes.
good guests like Mike Judge make an episode.

home movies continues to fade in my opinion, sealab and Aqua teen were good as always, baby blues sucked as always, space ghost was classic tonight, and after being totally turned off by the promos and animation I gave mission hill a chance, and it was funny as hell

Mission Hill was hilarious. I'm tired, so enough of that.
A+ rating.

Mission Hill was good, although I liked last weeks show more. I still think it's a bit mean-spirited (something that I don't think Eltingville was) and that is why my rating isn't higher. Overall grade: B

Must've been a last-minute dialogue edit. Those things do happen, when a caption will say something entirely different from the dialogue. I heard that captions often use first drafts of scripts rather than the revised final drafts. Dunno if that's completely true though.

Couldn't agree with you more. I'm beginning to really like the character of Jim. It was funny when he said he was gone for a week and the girl said she didn't realize he had left, then he proceeds to turn off the stereo in his room that was obviously left on for the entire week and says, "Oh, sorry about that." Priceless. :D

I didn't find this week's Mission Hill as funny as previous ones. Someone here mentioned that the subplots weren't as strong as in previous episodes and I would agree with that.

I'm in a good mood because tomorrow's the last day I'll ever set foot in my high school against my will. ^^ Expect cheerfulness to pop up in the most random places. On with the reviews.
Home Movies: I really REALLY liked that they played the most recent ep and then the very first ep. Good for contrasting. I like Squigglevision because it's so spastic, and the complete and utter randomness of everyone really appealed to me. Now I remember why I got into the show in the first place! It's not so random anymore, but they pull off a lot more good, subtle jokes in the newer ones. It's always interesting to see how a character's voice has changed as the series progresses. I had a rash on my arm when I woke up this morning.
Baby Blues: I don't know whether it was because I've seen this one twice before, or because I'd already sat through two half-hour-long episodes of cartoonage, but I really could have lived without watching it again. I love Rodney to death, but... I had to avert my attention. The puzzle I was working on was more entertaining.
ATHF: nn. Can live without this one. Not enough Carl.
Sealab: Look on the bright side.. we could be out there, like Stormy.
Again, I could live without it. But it had some great moments with the mop.
Mission Hill: Before I start my review, I must bring up something. My sister's friend Beth has a habit of walking up to people and saying "When you think about (insert object here) you touch yourself, oh-ohh-ohhhh.." Once she used toilets as the subject. It immediately sprung to mind during the store scene, and I cracked up. Which was bad, because I wasn't supposed to be still up watching TV.
Anyway, I'm officially in love with this series. All hail the slow, agonizing corruption of innocence! I didn't like the speech thing, it was WAY too unrealistic. And parts about the hot pants, why didn't Andy notice that Jim was wearing them until after Jim stood up? I mean, he must have been wearing them before he sat down, right?
Regardless.. wow. I mean... wow. I love this show. It left me off with such a humor high that SGC2C just wasn't funny... I fell asleep.

Well, here we go I guess!
I have missed "The Wedding" twice now. Oh well..
Home Movies "Get Away from my Mom": The squiggle-liscious art was only good in Dr. Katz. It's just annoying here. Let's see...the comments were lame, not real comedy, didn't laugh at all...wow. No wonder why I have a bad impression on the show. I must have seen this episode. D
Baby Blues "Rodney Moves In": The first episode aired on Cartoon network, and a good one. The South Park line was funny, the jokes and roasts of other ideas was hilarious. I can understand one not understanding the humor since some of it revolved around other shows (leave it to beaver), but those who just hate the show should probably explain what you found stupid about it. Very realistic, and anyone that makes a joke involving Mark mcGuire has to be funny! The hilucinations and insanity of crying Zoe was hilarious too. Just a great episode, even for the 3rd time! Glad to have recorded it.A
Aqua Teen hunger Force "Baloonenstein": Carl was funny as always. Oh, the problems Meatwad gets into! lol
Shake sucked...again. Unless he was being bashed and zapped by Meatwad. Some bland comedy at times, but overall a good episode. B
SeaLab 2021: About 3 good jokes. That's about it. Mostly a load of crap sitting on a pillow mixed with a dash of Ray Romano stand up. I would give this a D, but the ending with Stormy saved it from a failing grade. C-
Mission Hill: I LOVED last week's episode. This week's was also funny, but went a little over the top for my taste. Just seeing Kevin enjoying that magazine in the restroom was WRONG (also known as self manipulation :p ). A large amount of hilarious scenes, along with the jokes about Japan. Some annoyingly boring quirks such as the bing and boings, but that's about it. Overall, a hilarious episode that could have done without some of the Scary Movie sex humor. B+
Overall: This night almost got a B+. Then I saw that pilot HM and boring Sealab. Thus, I drop it slightly. B

Wow, Mission Hill is great. Any show that manages to work in the phrase "Horny McWhackWhack" gets my approval.

For some reason, I feel compelled to defend "In the Closet." (I have no idea why... differing opinions usually don't bother me. That is the point of a message board, after all.)
I wish I could explain why that crude animation of Murph's arm swinging straight up is so hilarious to me. Or the total non-sequitor cat sleeping on the shelf. Or "you were supplying that booty!," "how do you like me now, Chinstrap??" and "don't be a tramp like Debbie!"
If I were ever locked in a closet and could bring one thing to watch with me, it'd probably be "In the Closet." Easily Sealab's finest quarter hour. Though an explosion at the end would have been nice, I suppose. :bosko:

Cartoon Planet was hilarious, but The Brak Show just doesn't capture the same spirit. IMHO Cartoon Planet had an advantage because it could be genuinely random, having one segment about Brak singing about a baloney sandwich, the next being Mailbag Day, the next being Italian lessons, etc. The Brak Show needs to have a plot (however weak it is) which just gets in the way.
Or maybe it's just plain unfunny. :p Anyways, I like the Brak on The Brak Show a lot less than I liked the Brak from Cartoon Planet, SGC2C or Brak Presents The Brak Show Starring Brak.
