I'm new to this comic-thing, and I need some help in subscribing to two Batman titles. So, which two are the best?

Personal opinion, Detective and Batman. Depends on what type of stories you want, and who you want in them.

That's the exact same answer I would have given! You're reading my mind man!

Detective and Batman - absolutely. Especially with Lee/Loeb coming to Batman and Brubaker moving to Detective.
However, if you can find a way...try to fit Gotham Knights into your budget if you like stories involving the Bat Team in current continuity or if you like older Batman stories---Go for Legends of the Dark Knight...
In any case you can't go wrong :D

Batman is really good. The art is amazing and Brubaker's latest stories have displayed an efficient blend of superhero and detective stuff. Can't wait to see what Loeb will come up with.

I like all 3(i personally don't care for Legends) but my favorite two are Gotham Knights and Batman. Detective is pretty good as well though. Maybe you should get all 3. Although I'm not sure what Gotham Knights is gonna be like without Devin Grayson...

Although you might want to wait for the current mega-story to finish.
I myself, have been thinking of getting back into Batman and have decided to wait the story out (and probably pick it up as TPB's).

One great series you may want to consider tracking down is The Batman Adventures. While it has nothing to do with the current DC "Bruce Wayne: Murderer" storyline, TBA follows the adventures of the Batman from Batman: The Animated Series (cartoon). It's close to a decade old, but the stories and art are still regarded as some of the best in the industry.
There are two trade paperbacks (see Tonnzone comic section for details) featuring issues #1-7 and 7-14 I think. The stories are stand alone, so you don't have to worry about picking up ten other series just to understand the plot. By all means give the DC mainstream Batman title a try, but if you're like me, I think you'll prefer the clear, classic Batman in The Batman Adventures. It's really a gem, and if you find you like it, try to dig out a few more back issues from your local comics shop (the series had 36 issues in total) or order a reprint of the award winning "Mad Love" one-shot special.
Have fun!
