View Full Version : Jango Fett vs. Green Goblin

The Game

In the spirit of Star Wars vs. Spider-Man, which of the movie's villains would win one on one? (Keep in mind I chose Fett over Dooku to give Goblin a chance ;) )

Two villains that fly around on jet powered rocket type things, shooting and throwing explosives- who would win in a fight?

Well...

Jango Fett was dumb enough to leap down into the middle of a battle between Jedi and killer droids. With a BLASTER. So...

Green Goblin.

I'd take Jango Fett in this fight.

Jango would be dust after the Goblin would use his little "bombs".

Goblin has nothing on Jango...

In the event of flight, Goblin has his advantage, but Jango wins the event of aim.

From the Databank of Star Wars.com...
A proficient marksman and unarmed combatant, Fett was covered in a sleek armored suit that concealed his scarred visage and strangely tattooed forearms. His combat gear featured an arsenal of weaponry, including retractable wrist blades, a snare, dual blaster pistols and other more exotic tools of the trade.

Technology in the Star Wars universe was more advanced than Spider-Man universe's tech.. (no duh). Goblin could shoot all the bombs he wants, I bet Jango could shoot each one before they reach him. In fact, Jango could easily hit Goblin on his flying thing. Sure Jango did make a stupid mistake by fighting a jedi, but before that, he was known with a high reputation...

From the Databank of Star Wars.com.....

The name Fett carries with it a cold air of dread and competence. To those with the credits to hire him, it is synonymous with success. To those with reasons to fear, Fett means capture or death. The name and reputation are just two of the many things Boba inherited from his father, Jango. In the final years of the Republic, Jango Fett was regarded as the best bounty hunter in the galaxy.

Ok, does Green Goblin have a reputation that big??????

And as far as his death is concerned.....

From the Databank of Star Wars.com.....

Tasked with protecting Lord Tyranus, Jango entered the fray against the Jedi. His blaster skills killed several Jedi, but Jango was not quite prepared to face off against Jedi Master Mace Windu.

He did kill jedi... and do you think Green Goblin could face off against a Jedi Master?????? I think not.

Believe me, the goblin would have a better chance if you went with Dooku over Fett. Dooku is by far the worst Star Wars villan ever. I don't think you'll ever see Vader or Maul running out on a fight like Dooku did. What a wuss. I wish Yoda killed him, so we wouldnt have to see his wussy ass in episode 3.:p

Wait there is more!!!!

From the databanks of Star Wars.com

Jango Fett was orphaned at an early age, the son of simple Concord Dawn farmers killed by brutal marauders. At the age of ten, he was picked up by Journeyman Protector Jaster Mereel, who introduced Fett to a harsh world of mercenary life. He was raised among great warriors, learning to survive in the rugged frontiers. Though the Mandalorian supercommandos were wiped out by the Jedi Knights, Jango was one of the few left to still wear the armor.

Years of physical conditioning and training honed him into one of the most feared bounty hunters in the underworld. Not even Black Sun Vigos were safe from his dual blaster pistols.

And Norman's life... he was a business man and a scientist.....

*cough*

I think ol' Jango had his act much more together, but Osborn _might_ have an edge if he's enough off the deep end. Might be amusing to see this as a father/son outing as well.

Of course, the real fight's between Aunt May and Jedi librarian Jocasta Nu in mud-wrestling. :p

...The man basically beat up 3 Jedi. Anakin, Obi, and Yoda. Heck, if it was part of Sidious's plan, he could have sliced Yoda in half while Yoda was trying to hold up that falling pillar, but that would have killed off Sidious's little hobby in creating Vader.

But on Jango vs Goblin, I'd say Depth Charge brings up good points for the almighty Fett, but unless Fett hires the entire Bounty Hunters guild for him, Goblin's super-strength, massive maneuverability and those man-vaporizing Goblin bombs could do anyone without Spider strength out in seconds. Now, if Fett had a bunch of New Yorkers throwing garbage, maybe then he'd have a chance. :p

EDIT: Doh, missed Depth's comments; brings up good points against said man-vaporizing Goblin bombs. So, if Gobbie can get close-up, and if that armor protects him from SW lasers, only then could he have an advantage. Oh well, sorry Gobbie.

No, Dooku beat up 2 jedi, Yoda beat him up. Then he got scared and decided to run home crying to Sidious. :p

Dooku was out to start the Clone Wars. If he'd been killed, the Clone Wars would've ended and Palpatine'd be confronted about giving up his emergency powers then and there. As an apprentice, he did well for Palpatine. And he's a step up from Maul. Maul died as a Sith errand boy/political intern :p . The Clone Wars are a chance for Dooku to beat Palp/Sidious and take his own apprentice. It probably doesn't happen that way, though.

Jango would totaly kick GG's ass. Sure, GG has super strength and that high tech suit, but Jango has far more skill, and alot more gadgets. GG does have his pumpkin bombs, but like Depth Charge said, Jango would shoot them all before they even left GG's hands, causing them to blow up in his face, so that takes care of that.

See ya!

Gobby's just a pyscho in a butt-ugly rubber mask (in the Fox series, at least; Amazing Friends seemed to suggest it was a form of dissassociative lycanthropy disorder). I'm presuming the armor Jango wears is not only practical but a family crest, plus I'm told he's schooled in martial arts. Unless the Gobster can prove himself a better strategist and either catch Fett off-guard or zap him into a wormhole, no chance. A frontal attack would be suicide.
For me, the real fight would be Jango vs. Magneto. Both men have seen their families die/abandon them, and both have nothing to lose...and Fett would be at a disadvantage with metal armor (unless it's non-magnetic).

RockItShipper

Well, if it's metal there's got to be some strong stuff on it to keep it rust-free in the rain and all....

I figure it's (A) an alien alloy (which may or may not be affected by Magnus' talents or (B) aluminum/fiberglass (nonmagnetic but might not be strong enough to take heavy punishment). Or maybe it's painted with the same stuff used on auto bodies. [mental picture of hairy shirtless Jango waxing his armor in the driveway, swilling beer and listening to "Chumbawumba" on transistor radio; shudders] ;)

Since this is my own thread and I have yet to officially respond, I figured that I might as well.

Personally I just think Jango is the more astute of the two, and with his mastery of weapons he would figure out a way to defeat Goblin. Not to take anything away from Norman, but he just seems like a pyschopath with super strength. Not that he isn't intelligent- he was a scientist for god's sake- but he just doesn't seem as crafty and street smart- I think Jango would simply find a way to win.

Aren't you making Jango sound like Batman? ;) The Fetts do seem to be the high point of non-Jedi fighters in Star Wars.

Batman, if he had enough time to prepare. :p

Back on topic, I suppose Jango would win. ^_^

if Dooku took on the green goblin, it would be a short fight.

Goblin hops on his air-craft thingy, and flies around. Dooku uses his jedi lightning attack, or a force push. at a high altitude, goblin falls off and hits the ground. now only being a mere mortal, he dies. if a jedi fell from that hieght, he would survive (jedi's are magic)

I've got another one.... Jedi Master Kit Fisto versus Orgazmo :D

And on the undercard, The Wonder Twins vs. the A.F. Twins! With a washed-up G.L.O.W. Girl as a guest referee.... :p

How is the movie Goblin any different from the FOX or AMAZING FRIENDS Goblin, other than being both uglier and butt-nekkid?

The Penguin

Well getting this thread back on topic I voted for Jango.
I think the key to this battle is Fett is a bad dude and is proud of it, but the Goblin is kind of a split personality and he isn't totaly sure whether he is good or evil. While Goblin and Norman fought it out inside Osbourn's head, Jango would pick up the win.

If Jango picked up on the Goblin's schizophrenia early on, he could always help the guy further down the deep end by claiming Norman Osborn hired him. And maybe that would be the case anyway.
