So which Mr. Freeze design is you favorite? The more human version from BTAS, the sleeker version from TNBA, or the ghostly looking version from BB? I know, i know, they all rock, but which is your FAVORITE?

I personally liked the BB design. i thought his suit was cool as hell, being able to shoot ice directly and all, plus i thought the face inside the helmet was so grim and haunting, like a ghost or skull surrounded by ice vapors.

Well, what do YOU think??

As much as I loved the 'human' look of the original Mr. Freeze design, the 'Batman Beyond' design gave him that nagel of death type look. You knew exactly what he was setting out to do as soon as he put that costume on. The costume was both magnificent and a bit frightening.

As amazingly cool as those red eyes in the B:TAS looked and the detaced head from B:GK, the ghostly form from BB was just scary scary scary. Also had the most human Victor Freeze outside of his suit, and the betrayal at the end, ouch.

In TAS he looked like a man, in TNBA and BB he reminded me of a skinny elf. I mean no offence to those of you who loved BB or TNBA, I just think he looked to unhelthy that way and his ears were to sharp and pointy.

I ultimately had to choose the original BTAS version - I just love that design. The fact Freeze had better motivation to commit evil deeds back then helped, too.

Now, if you put Freeze in the BEYOND suit in the episode HEART OF ICE, then you'd have a definite winner. That suit is so...chilling.

I was never a huge fan of the re-design for TNBA. It was alright, but compared to the others, it was pretty lacking.

As a side note, you should remember that Freeze has been redesigned AGAIN in GOTHAM ADVENTURES (issue #40) - it's a mix of the BEYOND and the TNBA designs, and it's kinda cool.

Agreed. I understand their intent with it - to make him look like pure evil, but that seemed against type for the character. And the detatched head thing was....sorta ridiculous. Although it has been used to great effect once or twice (especially in JLAdv #6 for a hilarious moment).

I'm going to have to go with the incredible BB design for ol Freezie. The suit just seemed to be a natural element of the character and you knew he wasn't joking when he came after you. The B:TAS version would come in second as it was a great update of the character and costume and TNBA would come in dead last. I never understood the whole head is detachable thing and thought it was the wrong way to progress the character.

I voted BTAS, though BB is also cool, but BTAS looks more like a combination between man & machine, done in a simple, almost retro-style. Sometimes the ultra-futuristic look goes a little too far for my tastes, and I think the BB Freeze is an example, though it is by no means bad.

TNBA Freeze just annoyed me. They took away the circular glasses and the rounder look that made him so cool, and also reduced Freeze to just a head. It was like something from a B-movie (see The Head That Wouldn't Die, available in original or MST3K version). The idea of living as a head in a jar is ridiculous and ludicrously impossible, even in a world of super heroes. How can a head possibly survive with no heart to circulate the blood, lungs to provide oxygen, or digestive system to fuel it? It's completely absurd and bothered me a lot, since it turned what had been a wonderful character into a mockery of himself that would've fit in more aptly on the Adam West series. Good thing that they decided to fix that ASAP in BB.

I completely disagree dude!! I loved the detatchable head, i dont know, it was just kind of cool, and i thought they handled it really well so your imagination could be suspended (like clayface's origin, manbat, etc). I felt they really developed freeze's character throughout the series.

the reason i liked it so much was they went so extreme with it, that it worked perfectly with freeze's character...it gave him a begining and an end in the animated series, and being just a head makes death much closer. If it werent for that he would have probably just remained immortal (which also requires suspension of disbelief).

My preference is the BTAS suit. I think Freeze's suit then had that slight touch of a human look to it, it was also nicely retro-styled...although I don't like the purple gloves much. But the rest of it is great as it does show Freeze isn't dead of emotions, he's still got a tiny bit of a soul left in there.

Where can I see a picture of the Freeze design from BB? I haven't seen it, so anything would be appriciated.

I actually liked TNBA Freeze more than BTAS Freeze, but I liked BB Freeze the best of them all. :)

Anyways, just like with Batman's design I thought Mr. Freeze's design got better with each change/redesign

I always thought I would like the human touch of the original better, but I now realize that taking that away really makes Freeze what he should be: someone who yearns to be normal but is denied that wish. (I notice a lot of the Batman villains have that same motivation.) The human part of him is evident from the incredible voice acting, but his suit takes away any chance he has to achieve his goal. He is a tortured soul, and making him look human actually detracts from the message. But making him just a head was taking it a little too far. So, even though I prefer the B: TAS design to the TNBA, I had to choose BB.

Thanks Dark Knight. Even though the BB redesign is mad cool, I still prefer the BTAS design the best- like veryone else has said, it's the most human.

I went with the more human version from B:TAS. That design will always be my favorite.

For me it's a hard tie between the BTAS version and the BB one. I never got to see and of the episodes where he was just a head, (and I'm starting to be greatful for that) so these are the only Mr. Freeze's I know.

And if any one gets on my case for revamping old threads, sorry.

The BB design is most reflective of the Mr. Freeze character, and therefore my favorite. Outside the suit, Victor Fries is a warm, kind, caring man with soft brown eyes. Inside the suit, he is cold and detached, his voice is an empty drone, his face is expressionless and covered mostly in an ominous shadow, and his eyes are hateful. He looks like someone who could kill the angel of death.

I like the BTAS version the best.

And I love how his BB suit can just throw the ice beams right from his hands. That's so cool!
