What guest star do you think made the absolute best guest appearance or cameo on the BTAS/STAS/TNBA series. My personal favorite would have to be "In Brighest Day..."

Also for format reasons I had to leave out the following guest stars:

Orion from "Apokolips... Now!" parts 1& 2: STAS
Maxima from "Warrior Queen" STAS
Zatanna/Zatarra from "Zatanna" BTAS

This is a tough one... I can't decide between The Flash or The Creeper.

I think I'm gonna have to go with "Beware The Creeper."

Oooh great question! I'm torn between Kyle the Green Lantern and Lobo, but I chose Lobo. The Main Man was one of my ABSOLUTE favorite episodes!!

Oh, and let me bring this up now cuz no one could relate to me years ago when the episode first came out. I loved "The Demon Within" from TNBA, but not being a comic person, I was confused at the fact that Batman made it seem like I already knew who Etrigan was, when I didn't. That was my only gripe. Loved the story, animation, and episode though.

Had to go with Speed Demons. The animation was amazing in this episode (supplied by...surprise, surprise...TMS) and the story was well done. Sure, it was the classic 'race' scenario, but the episode was just so enjoyable.

As good as some of those episodes are, like SHOWDOWN and BEWARE THE CREEPER and all that, I felt that SPEED DEMONS was easily the best superhero team-up guest-appearance in the list. The writers really nailed Flash's character and mannerisms. It was good, clean, fun - and it sparks debate that nerds around the world will never put to rest. So, who is faster? Superman or the Flash?

Being a massive Hexhead, I had to pick Showdown.

I know what you're saying, in cartoons that should be a no-no. I can understand with something like the World's Finest episodes, but if it ain't an origin episode then it just seems off. That wasn't my problem with that episode. I loved the animation in that one, and I liked the villian, but it was the story. It was kinda lame. I wanted some Justice League stuff I suppose, like the fate of the world or something. That was kinda the problem I had with most of these episodes, except the "Apokilips... Now!".

I'm curious to see what they will do the Demon in the JL's "A Knight of Shadows". Why they would reuse a guest star is beyond me, it just better be that good enough. And I'm hoping Zane does the voice for Etrigan again. Hey, that rhymes.

I love westerns so I voted for J. Hex.
I do wish Hex was drawn more like he was in the comics.

I went with "Beware the Creeper" for several reasons:

1) Harley's "Puddin'" song was ab fab! :D

2) The exploration of Joker's origin, which allows for an approximate timeline

3) Creeper's crush on Harley made for some fun interaction.

It's not the best episode, but the one I most enjoyed out of the list.

I went with Lobo, believe it or not. :)

"Gone, gone the form of man..."

Had to go with "The Demon Within". First of all, it featured some the best animation of the series. Etrigan's deep and commanding voice was finely executed by Billy Zane.

It is one the rare episodes where Batman intercounters a supernatural being and needs supernatural assistance.

Mr. O, I was thinking the exact same thing you have when I first saw the thread title.

But very close to that one, I loved In Brightest Day, despite the whole Corps continuity conundrum caused by it - The constructs were awesome, the ring's powers looked very, very fun, and all of the characters from Kyle and the Guardians to Sinestro were really well portrayed. If they took out Superman's role and changed it a bit, it would have been a great pilot episode for a GL:TAS! Very fun ep and me liked a lot. :)

I haven't seen the episode, but I have issue #463 of The Adventures of Superman, in which Mr. Mxyzptlk makes Superman and Flash race around the world to see who is fastest. Is it the same story?

Nope, it's a different story involving the Flash villian Weather Wizard.

I'm surprised at all the Jonah Hex fans. Jonah Hex creator, Joe R. Lansdale is a prolific novelist and penned some later episodes in both TNBA and STAS. You may have heard of them. TNBA "Critters" and STAS "Unity". I will leave you with this thought.

Also, I did consider Gray Ghost, but is he a real comic book character? I've heard of the Crimson Avenger, but not the Gray Ghost.

As much as I really enjoyed the Green Lantern appearance, I'm more fond of Flash's appearance. It was great to see him with Supes, and I thought the writer's did well with not messing with his character much, in most, if not all, areas, I would say they were dead on with Wally.

Serious?! I thought Dini and Fogel did those (unless I'm misinterpretting the "penned" thing)! Well, even if so, he didn't write Showdown(Dini, Timm, and Altieri did), which was indeed a spectacular episode, even if it wasn't really a Batman episode. And even in Hex wasn't all that great in the past, the Timm team has been known to reinvent characters to make them much better!

And while Gray Ghost might not be a real comic character, Adam West, our own 60s Batman, should definately count as a guest star there, with minor props to Timm for voicing the toyman :p !

Bruce Timm did the voice for that guy?! WoW!! Learn something everyday.

But yeah, I'm pretty sure I remember Lansdale writing both of those episodes. I was looking for a common denominator of crappy episodes and his name came up on the Bat Computer. Just kidding. I actually did think that the Unity creepy looking guy and the Farmer Brown character and Jonah Hex looked too much alike. And when I looked at the credits, I was not too surprised to see his name in there.

I think I'll go with "Speed Demons". It was a fun and enjoyable episode, and Supes interaction with Flash was great.

Edit: Ugh, now I'm torn. I haven't voted yet, and I forgot that "New Kids in Town" was up there, too. Things just got harder for me now.....

Well, I'm not surprised "In Brightest Day..." is leading the pack with "Speed Demons" and "Showdown close behind. That episode really did a perfect job of what a guest star in a series should be about, especially one dealing with an established character like Green Lantern.

It had everything you needed to know about the Green Lantern mythos, the animation was top of the line. We got to see Sinestro kick Superman's butt then Kyle's and finally get his handed to him, and let's face it, this episode had the most action out of the guest stars if you ask me. The only one that beats it is JL's "Enemy Below" with Aquaman, but that doesn't count, cause the season has more guest stars ahead. I like the way they dealt with the origin, the Guardians, heck even Abin Sur. This was definitely one of the best episodes of the Superman series anyway, and even though "Speed Demons" was fun, it just could not hold a candle to "In Brighest Day" for me.

As for the other episodes, I didn't enjoy "Showdown" too much because I was never a huge Jonah Hex fan, and he didn't look too much like the Jonah Hex I remembered reading. "New Kids" was cool, but I didn't like the whole time travel thing back to when Supes was Clark Kent. In the beginning I was hoping to see Brainiac return to an older episode like Ghost In the Machine and try to destroy Superman or something like that. That would be more logical, two Brainiacs is better than one. "The Main Man" got pretty old for me, I just thought it was drawn out, and I didn't like the animation in part 2, oh and BB's The Call ruined it even further. "A Fish Story" just sucked. No underwater action, no Aquaman villian, nothing but Luthor plotting as usual. This should have simply been Black Manta and Luthor taking on Superman and Aquaman and then it seemed like they never met. I don't get how Supes knows Dr. Fate, but not Aquaman. As for "Hand of Fate", more of him and less of Supes would have been sufficient. The Creeper has always been a cool character and I liked his episode, and I really liked the crush on Harley stuff. But the problem was the Joker, you can't top the Joker. Maybe if he was the old Joker from Superfriends, but Mark Hamill has locked this Joker down to a tee and he can not be topped by anyone. Not even Creeper. I was thinking he was going to be like Freakazoid, but it didn't quite amount too much to that.

I had to go with Heavy Metal.
