Anyone have a good theory, and why is he in purple.

Possible life threatening injury which only the suit can help him with? Amplification of strength? Or maybe it's like Mr. Freeze's suit and it helps him achieve a little longer lease on life? Just thinking out loud... As for the purple, the Armor Depot was out of black metal?:D

I think the prevailing (and most logical) theory has been that Supes finally managed to ruin Luthor's financial empire, causing him to hit rock bottom. With nothing left to lose, Luthor used his robotics skills to create a suit that will allow him to take on Superman man to man... er, alien to man in a robotic super suit.

That seems like the best alternative. I think this is the only way that Luthor would showcase himself with a bunch of villians in the first place, especially ones like Joker and Cheetah. How the mighty have fallen...

I have to say I agree with Dick Grayson and The Mad Hatter. There is no way that he is still running LexCorop and is openly showing his face with The likes of The Injustice Society.

Good point, hadn't even thought of that...

--his suit hides his face and synthesizes his voice so no one knows it's him. Sort of like Derek Powers and Blight before the masses saw they were the same man. As I mentioned before, Lex was near death in the comics, trapped in an iron lung. The exo suit may be a variation of that theme. Outside of it he may be a crippled dying wreck....

Nope, the picture of Luthor on DG's news page shows his face, clear as day.

Man... I'll bet if one more board regular admits that they don't read his news page, DG's going to go postal... :)

I thought it was just a publicity still red herring, so as not to give away too much about the series. Or maybe he hasn't put on the visor yet in that shot. There's a trick in there somewhere...there must be! :p

Supposedly they're going to explain it in an episode. I have a feeling that Lexcorp will go under. And possibly there might be some accident that might warrant the suit. However, they have a shot of Lex not in the suit though. Btw its actually mostly green. Its my fault for calling the suit green and purple in the first place.

What if Lex is more of a "silent" member of the injustice gang. And the suit is more of Lex doing his PR. Something along the lines of:

"Superman attracts all these super villains to Metropolis and destroys half the city while battling them. I have created this suit and others like it to form a security patrol to protect the citizens of Metropolis from the menace that Superman brings to our city."

So, to the public, Lex is still being a philanthropist, but in secret he aids the Injustice Gang by supplying them with technology to destroy the JLA (Superman included.)

The idea of "Lex was exposed and now wants revenge" is indeed logical. But if JL: TAs in the same world as B: TAS/S: TAS/TNBSA, then why would Luthor want to wokr with Joker again? After the events of World's Finest, I don't know if Lex should trust Joker.

Good point. But if they didn't write around that issue between Joker and Lex, I'm sure they'll just write it out, like they did to poor poor Kyle.

I'd say one thing's for sure. That suit could very likely mean the end of Lex corp, and the beginning of Lex's bad guy leadership. dun dun duuuunnn!!! ;)

I just grabbed this from the news page (See DG, some of us still read it :p) -

"There’s even a part in the story where he’s [Luthor] in prison and will be wearing the old Curt Swan prison garb," Timm exclaimed.

Well it looks like the theory that Luthor has lost his empire by the time JL starts should be true.

I also believe that they'll keep in the details from "World's Finest" and he will be forced to team up with the Joker, writing something like that should be too much fun for the production team to pass up. And like several others have said, the suit should be there so Luthor can go one-on-one against other members of the League.
