DragonBall or DragonBall GT

As you probably know,after Z is finished, FUNimation will be dubbing DragonBall,rather then dubbing DragonBall Grand Tour.
I'm glad about this,because Z will be even better once I know the history of the characters. The Android Saga will be better once I've seen the Red Ribbon Saga in DB. What is everyone elses opinion on this decision?

I really wanted then to dub GT so I could drool over trunks somemore. :p

But seeing regular DragonBall will be ok to I guess.

Its all one big twiching contest anyway.

If your a Trunks fan,you'll hate GT. Trunks is dorky and badly drawn in it.

My views are the same as Blight Man's. I want much more history too. But ALL THE SWEAR WORDS on Earth CURSE Funimation for dubbing it. Why do they get to do it??! It's done so horribly and it completely ruins the show!!

OK, trying to get the hang of the new forum...,but anyway. What other options are there? Do you mean they do a bad job of dubbing or do you want subtitles? Seems like it would be hard to get kids to watch with subs. ditto, of course, if it were actually broadcast in Japanese.

A lot of people are worried that the humour will be lost.One of the best things about DragonBall is the humour. For example,what Goku says when he first hears about the Dragon Balls:"You mean some poor dragon....?". FUNi may replace it with lame censor pleasing jokes,like the one Tenshen told King Kai to get trained in DBZ:"You can tuna a piano,but you can't tuna fish". I've read that the original joke was something about having snot frozen to your nose.Lets just hope that FUNi does it right.

Dragonball dubbed videos are out. Can't say I was too thrilled with the one I rented at Blockbuster. But once I checked out the graphic novel with the same story... It's full of toilet and sexual humor..:D

As for subs, dubs, etc... I've seen DB/Z/GT fansubs for $8... image quality's not great, but conventions might be better. But if only it was as easy as CCS and Sailor Moon which have official subbed VHS and DVDs now. And there's some DB stuff subbed on DVD but not to the complete # that Gundam Wing is at so far.

And I've gotten used to watching raw Japanese stuff. That's how I watch Pocket Monsters, Digimon Adventure 02 (and Tamers- got the first 4 eps!), both CCS movies, last summer's live action Sailor Moon musical and Yugi Oh(on a preview basis- seen 1/2 of the tape I got but no definite opinion yet).
