I bought the unedited version today. Is it really that much better than the unedited, so that I shouldn't get the edited version?
Thanks

I guess you could buy the edited version if you want to compare the two, or just watch the movie fullscreen, but if you don't really care about that, then don't waste your time or money. The unedited version is alot better and flows better than the edited.

If you wanna have both copies--then I would say, yeah. In one scene, the animation is TOTALLY re-done--not just edited. So there are 2 different versions to the filme--Unedited being the original.
However, the edited is more (ironic, eh?). It retails for $24.95, and can be found at best buy for $19.95--versus the $14.99 for the un-edited.
with that said, stop surfing the boards and go watch the un-edited! :p

I think both are good to have. The unedited version is great for teens and old guys like me, but the unedited is much better for sharing with young children, or sharing with people that don't usually watch these movies (moms, grandmas, other relatives.) They're both a great watch. As much as I want people to buy them new so the WB will make more Batman Beyond DVD's, I will share this: There are a fairly regular supply of edited ones making their way to ebay.com as people replace them with unedited versions. Expect to pay about $5.00-7.00 plus shipping when you find one on there.

kings win. they now lead the series 2 games to 1. what was crazy about that game was the Laker came back from being down as much as 26 points to cutting it 12 points. they had an 11-0 run in 34 seconds. the kings were gripping a little bit when that happened but they were able to pull out a victory.

Can we please swing this back on topic? Alrighty - I say get both. Get the unedited now, and wait a little bit until the edited is a bit cheaper. It is worth it to have both, IMO.

When you said both ROTJ I thought you meant Return of the Joker and Return of the Jedi. Honestly, I agree with Jim get both, and pick up Return of the Jedi too whenever it comes out on DVD. :D

Jim, I'm curious, do you have any reasons for getting both? Meaning, is it because they both are good movies, or just for comparison purposes?
Thanks

I only have the unedited ROTJ version on DVD - I can't remember, but are all the extras the same on both DVDs? The extras I am most particularly wondering about are the full-length commentary and the cut-scene sequences with Jordan Pryce and in Arkham.

yup, both are identicle, except that the commentary on the un-cut DVD is un-cut as well. Alot of what Dini talked about was cut out of (or did they do a brand new one--I can't remember) the edited..
