View Full Version : JL reruns all summer?

As a regular viewer of ToonZone I was excited today about seeing the schedule for Justice League. Imagine my horror to find out that July will be ANOTHER month of reruns! What is Cartoon Network trying to do to us? They show endless reruns for months then complain their ratings are low. Look I realize they have to show some reruns and after late March and April being new episodes I was willing to wait. But from the looks of things we won't be getting any new JL for quite awhile. I was hoping Cartoon Network would take pity on us and show at least one new episode (preferably Injustice for All). Does anybody have any ideas why Cartoon Network is not showing any new JL episodes?

So judging by the schedual of Justice League, it looks like we won't even have a new episode until september, let alone Injustice for all. I don't like this at all.

The horror, the horror!

I seriously hope Cartoon Network changes its schedule halfway through. I mean, they changed it when they replaced "Injustice For All" with a repeat of "The Enemy Below", they could do it again, but *add* new episodes!

As to why they're showing repeats, theres a buncha possibilities to this one...since JL started its season in November, they might be holding off some episodes for Sept and Oct, when new seasons typically begin. Personally, with four story arcs left, I would schedule a new arc each month for July, August, Sept, Oct.

But hey, these guys are made CEO's for a reason ;)

Here's to hoping they air new episodes soon...my JL toys from Subway can't possibly provide me with my JL fix for the entire summer ;)

I second the motion, what is up with that schedule????? Reruns all summer long. I'm not sure about the rest of you but I've seen Secret Origins so many times I can repeat the dialogue by heart :)

This really is kinda stupid. If the new season is suppose to begin in November, why are they putting the old season episodes so close to the premiere episodes. Of course they'll probably premiere the new season in February of next year now. CN is really stupid.

All I can say is they better be making this up with hella guest stars and eight solid months of brand new episodes.

I guess we don't have to worry about CN scheduling "Injustice For All" like they said they would. Tis a shame - I already have all of these episodes on tape and probably won't make time to watch these all again for the fifth or sixth time.

I agree with what all of you are saying. But, if you look at the shows on the networks, they've all had their season finales and, now, are getting ready to air repeats or summer programming. In a way, they're doing what the networks are doing. I'm not making excuses, nor am I trying to take Cartoon Network's side. But, it is frustrating. CN execs need to listen to their fans!

JUSTICE FOR ALL!!!!!!

P.S.

Maybe we need to send Hawkgirl in to kick some tail!

While it is true that all the networks are slipping into summer rerun schedule, thats because they don't have new episodes in the can, they have to shot new ones. JLA has at least 2 new episodes waiting to be viewed, the Injustice for All 2 parter. But maybe we now know why they won't air it. A JLA game for the Game Boy Advanced called "Justice League:Injustice for All" was announced today. So, and perhaps I have seen X-Files one to many times, they are holding the Injustice show till the fall when the game is released to hype sales for it.

If thats the case, then it's really a sad commentary on how this property is being handled.

As of right now JL:TAS has four arcs and 9 episodes that have yet to be shown. These are:

"Injustice For All" - JL vs the Injustice Gang, 'nuff said.
"A Knight of Shadows" - spotlighting Batman and Martian Manhunter and guest starring Etrigan
"Metamorposis" - guest starring Metamorpho
"The Savage Time" - the three part season finale guest starring Vandal Savage

CN isn't just holding back Injustice for All but over two months worth of episodes - I know that I would much rather have two months of new stuff now than have to wait until August or September to see these. Personally I think it would make more sense to air these now and give some of the earlier episodes a chance to dim a little in our minds so that the next time we see them it doesn't feel like we've seen "In Blackest Night" for the sixth time.

Then, maybe we need to air our concerns with the folks at Cartoon Network, bugging them until they yield to our demands. GRRRRR!!!!!!

We did that with "Injustice For All" and were told that they were going to be putting it on the schedule in the very near future - doesn't look like it got us anywhere though as it still isn't on the schedule before August - roughly the time frame we would have seen it before.

CN changes their schedule all the time. Not to get your hopes up, but the new episodes of Grim & Evil weren't going to arrive till October 2002. Now they are showing at least three new eps in the summer. Maybe CN will have another revision and add some new eps of JL if they are completed. I don't know for sure, but CN always revises their schedule.

It's not final, until you are actually watching the show. The premiere of Mission Hill was pushed back two weeks while CN was still airing commercials that said it was arriving at the original airdate. I feel your pain JLers. ;)

Remember how in April I said to "relax, enjoy the summer, go see Spidey and Star Wars in May?"

Well, now it's May, so I say "relax, enjoy the summer, go PPG and MIIB in July...." :)

Of course if it gets to be October and I say "relax, enjoy the fall???, go see James Bond in November...?"

Never mind, I'm with you. Show the rest of Season One already. :D

Now it looks like we won't I4A until the fall anyway, so I'm interested in what their promotion was going to be, since they say that was the reason they were holding back the rest of the episodes. We shall see...

Oh, yeah, and we already got some hell in "Paradise Lost." :p

Later.

A couple of thread popped up that simultaneously addressed this. I've merged them all into this thread.

As long as they do a good job, they can take their time.

Reruns all summer?? Well, that was a tad unexpected, especially when I thought that "Injustice for All" would air sometime in the summer. But I guess there's nothing we can do now but wait. :)

Scene opens to a dungeon. A keen JL: TAS fan is held in chains. The door opens, and a ponchy, official looking man comes into the room.

Man:
Do you know who I am?

JL Fan:
Yeah! You're one of the CN guys that won't air Injustice For All!

The ponchy, official looking man clicks his fingers, and another man pushes a large TV screen and VCR on a trolley into the room. The ponchy official man pulls out a video tape and pushes it into the VCR. The screen comes on, and it shows a clip from Injustice For All.

Joker (on TV):
Wakey, wakey, Batman.

Batman (on TV):
Joker! I should have known you'd be in on this.

Joker(on TV):
Really? Ha! I must be falling into a rot! (To Luthor) You're not going to leave him like this are you?

Luthor(on TV):
Why?

Joker(on TV):
HELLO?! He's still alive!

The ponchy man stops the tape.

JL Fan:
NNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

Man:
YESSSS!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! YOU'RE GOING TO HAVE TO WAIT WHILE WE KEEP RE-ARRANGING OUR SCHEDULE! HAHAHA!!!

Well, this is dissapointed. While they aired 17 episodes (4 more episode then the usual lenght of a regular cartoon series season), I thought they would air all 26 episode, that's the impression I got. Maybe we'll see the final nine episodes lead up to season two in November. But still...repeating the same episodes over and over...

This is true but at the same time I think that we need to up the sound level to near jack hammer levels in order to get CN to listen to us. I have a feeling that I won't be worried about getting home to watch JL:TAS over the summer as I could watch all of the previous episodes at my leisure.

Aside being speechless when I saw the JL schedule.

Why not show something else. It would make it alot less painful. Transformers & He-Man will be airing in the fall. Why not show re-runs of that. Why not more Superman: TAS?

Joe Wagner

While I would love to see more S:TAS being played it doesn't seem CN wants to give JL:TAS a much needed break or show new episodes of the series. Also - while Transformers is indeed starting this fall Masters of the Universe was originally intended to debut over the summer and there is speculation that this could be the mystery Toonami theatre presentation slated for August (very near to the same time frame Samurai Jack appeared).

I think they should simply show a marathon of Justice League one weekend culminating in the lost episode "Injustice For All" of they will air both parts back-to-back and then take the show off their schedule completely, except one time slot a week.
