Does any one know where I can find copies of it?

I remember seeing a clip of Fairchild getting her superpowers on gen13.com.

I think it's only availavle in Europe, but I've seen bootleg copies of it at the Pittsburgh Comicon. That's all I know about it.

Sadly, it was never released in the US...some copyright issues I think, not sure exactly. There was an official release of it in Europe as mbaker said (France I believe), but I don't think it was in English.

Bootleg copies have shown up here and there in the past, but I haven't seen any on eBay lately.

Interesting that this was released through Paramount and not Buena Vista Home Video - the group that holds the rights for the film over here. Hmm....with the recent success of the Spider-Man: Ultimate Villains Showdown DVD I wonder if they would consider releasing this in the states.

Europe. Great. Exactly where I do NOT live. :p Well there never was a US release, and probably never will be since the movie is kind of old right now, but you can always hunt online for it if you have broadband. That's all I;'m saying though since I don't want this thread to get locked. hope it helps.

Actually the movie was supposed to have a US release until about the last minute when it was scrapped by Buena Vista. After that Buena Vista tried to release it again and after a little bit of advertising once again scrapped the project and sealed it in their vault to not be seen by American eyes. From my understanding the movie is actually pretty good although coming from Disney it could have been considered risque (even though there is nothing of that nature to make it risque).

EDIT: I just found out some more info on the Gen13 film. It looks like Kevin Altieri supervised the animation on this film (he supervised the animation for Pearl Jams "Do the Evolution" video) and that the rights to distribute this film was sold to Paramount. It also looks like the reason it isn't in the states is due to a disagreement between Wildstorm and Paramount as to who the films audience is. Also Australia, France, UK and Germany have all seen this film released - with the UK carrying a classification certificate of 15 and Germany an FSK-16 meaning it's not suitable for anyone under 16. Mark Hamill also plays the voice of the villain Threshold in the movie.

Here (http://www.crawlspace.com/gen13/movienews.html) is a link to some clips from the movie for anyone that is interested.

I actually found a brand new NTSC (our VCR) copy on Ebay last year, and only paid ten dollars for it. Granted, the copy I have is extremely rare, there are copies out there though in good quality. The movie is very well done, I was thinking that it had the potential to be the next Adult Swim Action Cartoon (due to all of the innuendos and violence).

The animation style is very similar to Batman: the Animated Series (Altieri also worked on that show), almost a "daytime" version of it. Alicia Witt plays Fairchild, John de Lancie (Q) from Star Trek plays Lynch. Any more info and I'd spoil it for you. If you have a little money and patience, you will find a copy.

I actually don't think the movie's that old. The release year on my copy was 2000, so it only has been a couple of years.

However, based on what jjw just said about the disagreement with audience selection, I personally am a little more optimistic about a future release date. It took a higher rating, but the uncut version of Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker was finally made available. So with a little time and a distributor not afraid to give it a PG-13/R rating, maybe Gen 13 will reach it's fan base here, as most will be in the mature age group anyway.

Later, Heroes.
