I bought an old Looney Tunes glass today that I can't find any info on....it's a small Road Runner and Wile E. Glass dated 1974. There is a title at the top "Wile E. Heads for a Big Finish", as there is a large truck headed for him. It's very small, the paint is red and orange, and the lettering is blue. Any guesses? I saw another one with Sylvester and Tweety, but I didn't buy that one.
I see through internet sites that there are a number of people who are very avid collectors of cartoon glasses. I just collect the Looney Tunes ones, and I have these:
1973, Pepsi:
Wile E. Coyote
Elmer Fudd
Speedy Gonzales
Slow Poke Rodriguez
1976, Pepsi:
Cool Cat/Beaky Buzzard
Bugs Bunny/Road Runner/Wile E. Coyote
Sylvester/Tweety/Granny/Sylvester Junior
Daffy Duck Indian/Yosemite Sam/Bugs Bunny
the Bugs Bunny 50th anniversary glass, a 1994 WB Studio Store "Marc Anthony and Pussyfoot" glass, and several Welch's jelly jar/glasses.

Does that glass by any chance resemble these?

If so, then it was part of a series of twelve or so glasses made by WB, that's all I know. (I found the picture on ebay, I thought some of you might want a visual reference to help Matthew, I hate posting ebay auctions, though)

Matthew,
You found one of the 1974 Looney Tunes jelly jars by Welch's. There are 8 in the set. And it's a great set. It includes the following (these are the captions on the glasses):
1. - TH-TH-TH-THAT'S ALL, FOLKS!
2. - WHAT'S UP, DOC? FRESH CARROTS?
3. - BUGS LEADS A MERRY CHASE
4. - SPEEDY SNAPS UP THE CHEESE
5. - THUFFERIN' THUCCOTASH
6. - I TAWT I TAW A PUDDY TAT!
7. - WILE E. HEADS FOR A BIG FINISH
8. - FOGHORN SWITCHES HENERY'S EGG
I don't have the Road Runner one. :(

That's them! Cool. I thought Welch's only did Looney Tunes in the 90's.

As did I. My grandma collected a lot of them, as well as the glasses that were released during of the time of the "Tom and Jerry" movie... 1994, or so?
I wonder if they're still around somewhere...

There was a Tom and Jerry set right before the LT's, I think. I never had one but I remember seeing them. I recall Tom on a surf-board. I have a bunch of the LT Welch's glasses. I had to convince my mom to buy the jelly like that for a long time...I remember that frustrated her because they're much smaller than most jelly containers and we kept running out every couple of weeks. Anyway, I have a bunch of the first set of 12, and then all 6 of the second series. We used them as juice glasses for a while, (we still use the Daffy/Bugs/Fudd one) but now (I believe at my parents' discretion) they reside in a box in my closet. I keep one or two on shelf display. I figured they'd be either useful or valuable someday. I may use them in college, or sell them to make some money.

Yup, there were two Tom & Jerry Welch's sets. One in 1992, which had 4 jars of T&J playing various sports. And in 1993, another set of 4 of scenes from T&J: The Movie.
I have all of the 1994 Welch's Looney Tunes set of 12... except for jar #11. I still haven't found that one. I am missing a couple from the 1995 set of 6, too.
These jars are fun to collect, I often find them for 25 to 50 cents at flea markets.

#11 is the Bugs, Daffy and Elmer one with the "Rabbit Fire" scene. It's cool.

Annnnnnd before that, although not Looney Tunes, there was the long-running series of Welch's Flintstone glasses (which they brought back much later on).
