Well, if I had one it might be! Anyone even have a lightsaber? And if so, what kind, from what Episode, what color is it and do you even like it? I really want to get a lightsaber, and though the replica ones are pretty awesome, I'm not going to pay 300 dollars for just a handle that doesn't even have a plastic saber that comes out of it. Plastic works for me! But, I've heard mixed reviews from friends. One group of three guys recommended the smaller, average Jedi lightsaber. It comes in green, blue and now purple. It doesn't light up or make sounds and the saber is only 2 feet, but it does clip to your pants and the saber doesn't come sliding out when turned upside dow. The more expensive lightsaber's, which are made to look like Anakin's and Obi-Wan's, make pretty awesome sounds when they light up, and make battle sounds when you duel with someone, or if you just hit it. It doesn't unclude a belt clip, and the saber doesn't go all the way in, and if can't turn it upside down because the saber will slide out...so you have to constantly hold it unlike the other, cheaper one. Any suggestions on which one to get?

I've got two Episode I light sabers... Qui Gonn's green Saber, and Darth Maul's dual sided-red saber
...I'm planning on getting the Anakin Blue and the Count Dooku bent-handled Red sabers... Toys R Us has 'em here for $20 a pop...

for playability and overall coolness, i'd get the cheaper sabers..as you said, they actually hide completley in the blade. plus they're smaller than the electronic ones and more lightweight. if you're looking more for authenticity i'd go with the electronic ones, since they're pretty much exact replicas..the cheap versions all have just two variations of handles..even the count dooku red saber has an average straight handle.
...hey and worse comes to worse, you could always go the old school jedi route and construct your own. ;)

When I was a wee lad, the light sabers availabe came in blue, red, yellow, and once Return of the Jedi came out, green. They were hollow inside and open on the end. the inside was devided by an "X" into four tunnels, so it would make a "swooshing" sounf as the air passed though when you waved it. I had a green one. There was also some glowing kind that was white and did not make noise. I can't remember wether it was battery powered or just glow in the dark. It was smaller and completely different looking. I never had that kind.
Niether type was retractible in any way. Almost everyone I knew had a "swooshing" one. I feel bad for kids stuck with a yellow one. I bent the heck out of mine, pretending it was a pole vault.

My dad bought me a sympathy saber when I got my 8 wisdom teeth pulled. Vader's, of course. Red clear plastic extending barrel with a thing inside that makes it clash and make "wavering sounds" when you move it. It hums when it's on. At least it did...

8 teeth?!?
Anyway, getting back on topic. Darth Maul's lightsaber is pretty choice. In fact, I wouldn't mind having any lightsaber ^_^

Mine's a purple bladed sabre, three crystal variable so that I can elongate the blade from twice to three times its normal size.
Like the one in Jedi Acedemy.

I've got a Maul double edged saber from Ep. 1 and a green Luke Skywalker electronic lightsaber I got a few years ago. I'll probably get an Anakin or Obi Wan saber at some point too, but Luke's will always be my fave. :)

I own the Luke saber from ROTJ, the Vader one, and the Darth Maul one.
The biggest problem with those ones are that you can't really duel with them. I had to replace my Luke one after it snapped in a "duel" with a friend. What crap. ;)
If I designed my own, I'd have a regular looking saber with a BLACK blade, oh ywah.

I own Qui-gon Obi-wan sabers from episode 1. I bought a luke saber from episode 6 from a garage sale, but the blade broke.
My little sister owns a Darth Maul saber.

Well, I think I'll go with getting the simpler, cheaper one for now..mostly for the fact that it retracts and I can hook it to a belt. Blue of course...go Obi-Wan!!! If I have some more cash later on, which I already know I will :D, then I'll get the Obi-Wan style lightsaber for 20. And boy, I was tempted to go rob something when I saw the Obi-Wan lightsaber replica online...it is beyond awesome. But it's also 300 bucks...ouch.

Get the Darth Maul one from KB toys. They are still selling episode 1 crap with the new stuff in an effort to get rid of it
I can't afford to buy a real lightsaber so PushPops will have to do for me at the moment :p
*Waves pushpop around....ohh how pretty!!*
*licks it*
....
hmmm..I wonder if the real ones taste this good too. I bet the Jedi's never knew this...
*wanders off to buy another one*

[in old geezer voice] In my day we didn't have any fancy-butt light sabers! We had to go outside, break a branch off'n a tree, and make the cool swooshing sounds with our mouths! You kids today have it too soft! Nurse! Where's my pudding? ;)

I've got Count Dooku's Lightsaber. Bought it the night before Episode II came out. Who can guess what I did in line the next morning?
