View Full Version : Need Digimon questions answered!

With all the talk of Digimon I've read today on this board, it's really got me interested in that series again. I watched the first 2 seasons closely, and loved Season 2 in particular, but haven't watched season 3 except for a couple episodes, (which I did like). I guess since I finally got Cartoon Network last summer, I've been to busy keeping track of their programming.
So, cut to the chase, here's my questions: Is Digimon still on in the afternoon on Fox? Whenever I tune in in the afternoon on Fox, I always see the Simpsons on. And that's a ripoff. I like the Simpsons, but I feel the need for Fox to get some quality cartoons for the younger generation, (like Digimon, which I felt rises above the usual kids fray).
I'd like to record the third season of Digimon, but I don't think it's on in the afternoons. And if I only record every Sat. morning, it'll take forever to get season 3. Is it on ABC family or any cable network? At what times? How many more episodes of Season 3 are left?

Well, since FOX has no more afternoon children's programming, then no, it's not on anymore except Saturday.
And methinks there's about 5 more episodes left. Something like that, anyway...

NOOOOOO....well, that's why I've been unable to record and get up to date on Season 3. Cause Fox is going to Hell in a handbasket!
Maybe they'll rebroadcast for the summer M-F?

Probably not. But Digimon airs daily from 7-8 AM on ABC Family, and they're roughly 8 or so episodes into Tamers right now.

Lessee. . .FOX afternoon kids' programming kaput. . . ABC gets the broadcast rights in fall, so expect it in the Disney lineups soon. . . I think there are 3(?) unbroadcasted eps left, but they're being delayed. . .
It's been a fun season. I heard they let the one of the maniacs who wrote the "Lain" anime work on this, and lookie what happened!

At least it's not as screwy as Furi Kuri. Made by the people who did Evangelion and Utena, combines with little sleep, much caffine, and about 17 types of legal and illegal drugs...O.o;;;

...you mean 03 wasn't made by the EVA people? I've been listing the D-Reapers forms by Angel names!
...of course, if it was all EVA then...
Takato would kill everyone but Rika...
...and they just couldn't HAVE that! Although look at Yamaki, especially early in the season, and tell me he's not supposed to be Gendo Ikari...his glasses even do the same shine!

Huh? Woohoo! How long have they been doing this? I gave up on that channel after ABC took over, (though the content stayed roughly the same?) So they've already 8 or so episodes into the story? Hmmm...Are they going to rebroadcast over and over, (just like FoxKids use to do?)
Does ABCfamily channel run any more anime? :)

That rather cheesy show "Totally Spies" but that's it.

It no longer exists, since the Revolution Board's pretty much gone kaput, but I wrote a post awhile back comparing characters in Tamers to those in Evangelion. Yamaki was the obvious choice, although Ruki struck me somewhat of an Asuka type, and Takato with his passivism punctuated with sporadic bursts of insane rage bears more than a passing resemblance to Shinji.

You reminded me of someone who was writing an Eva/Digimon crossover fic once, dunno if she ever finished it or not. Then again, it shoudn't be THAT hard to find a fic like that in fanfiction.net, though I can't exacly guarantee the quality of said fic :( :p
I've also heard about a Lain artist/writer working on Digimon since Season 02 (02 Kari kinda looks like Lain, too). Never did confirm it :p
Lastly, ABC Family DOES show some anime (besides Totally Spies, and that's an *AILO ). Before the FOX merger they'd show Monster Rancher early in the morning (for some $#%@#$@# reason they refuse to air the ep where the gang actually fight and defeat Grey Wolf and Naga for some reason, as well as a couple of other eps. Don't get me started with Season 3...)
After the Merger, pretty much anything currently airing on FOX now is getting rerun in ABCFam (except Galidor, Mon Colle Knights and Alienators). They air two back to back rerun episodes of Tamers, one ep of Power Rangers Time Force (Wild force reruns air on Fridays) and a rerun of Medabots (we're not getting Season 2 of Medabots, are we? On well.)
Come this fall, Digimon Frontier (04) is supposed to air on ABC (Is Disney killing off the One-Saturday Morning block, though? I'm hoping for a yes, as I find 1-Sat to be evil save for a select few cartoons, and most of those toons just get dumped over to Toon Disney afterwards except for Buzz Lightyear, which is a damn shame).
*AILO: Anime In Look Only

The only two fics I've ever written (at this point) were Slayers and a Weiss Kreuz/Yami no Matsuei cross, so that ain't me.

I read on another message board that ABC Family was going to definatly air Digimon Frontier rather than the ABC Network.
The good news is that we will get to see it. The bad news, however, is that ABC may not go on as decently next fall with Digimon not joining the block.
Let's just hope they won't do reruns or news.

If that's the case, then that's not to my advantage. :( Here in Canada, we don't get ABC Family, and so if it airs on that channel, I'm not gonna be able to see it. At least if it aired on ABC, I'd be able to.
Well, hopefully YTV (a cable channel up here) will decide to air it. They've aired Digimon for the past three years, and hopefully this year won't be any different.

It is the case, but don't worry if you live north of the border. There, YTV may very well pick it up, though it has not yet been confirmed.

I just find it wierd that ABC family would get the rights to air it. Yeah, Digimon is a kids cartoon(sorta), but I thought it would be a little too violent for that networks taste. I just figured they rather air Magic School Bus or something educational. Not that Digimon doesn't teach lessons...moral lessons that is.
