Yes, I've started an entire topic about this.

That is one weird-looking Andy Panda! Um, that is Andy Panda, isn't it? I've never seen Andy with the later, streamlined Woody Woodpecker before.

Where did you get that from, anyway??

Yup, that IS Andy Panda. Thad got it from one of the bumpers from the original Woody Woodpecker Show. I am sure he can fill in the rest of the details... and maybe post a larger image. ;) :D

I wonder if that's how Andy would have looked if his series had continued into the 1950s and '60s.

Yup, Jon is absolutely correct on that one. You can tell that the theory of Andy being canceled, because with Dick Lundy gone, nobody could draw him well, is somewhat correct...:p

That is a typical television version of a classic character. They are always poor.

Yes, which goes for the WB characters, especially. I remember several made-for-TV holiday specials that had character artwork that was absolutely unbarable.

The STORK was drawn horribly, even...! :o

*grin* Indeed. However, there were some Dell comic book imitations of Andy that were almost worse... but not in terms of pure offmodelness.

I have a couple of the older Dell Comics back in storage.

Dont remember most of them, but i do remember some Andy Panda's drawn primarily by Jack Bradbury, an old school Disney comic book artist who drew in a rather stiff, but nicely detailed style...

That's how he probably would've looked in the 50s and 60s, as Jon said earlier.

While very stiff, Bradbury's work has an almost "sketchy" quality to it. Usually, his work is nice, but often depends on who was writing for him at the time.
