Okay, Jack started this question on the Warner Bros. Club board that isn't going to be answered over there anytime soon. There is a scene in Birdy and The Beast in which Tweety is whistling a song. This is also a song that is often played on Animaniacs as a flute-y tune when Mindy is around. Here is a description of the Tweety scene that I used at the other board:

Do you know the scene shown during commercials for The Bob Clampett Show, when the say "He gave us Tweety Bird" and show Tweety dancing/walking and whistling at the same time? That is the scene where the flute music is being played, it seems like Tweety is whistling it. I know that they definitely show a scene from Birdy and The Beast with Tweety pulling on a cat's tongue, but is the dancing from that too? Anyways, the music plays during the dancing/walking scene.

I'm not sure which of the two, Birdy or Gruesome Twosome, the scene is from, but I am favoring Birdy... Even if you recognize it, I dunno of there's a name for the tune.

So, if anyone can help, Name That Tune! Also, if possible, could someone tell us what was done to the song for Animaniacs? Here is a link to the question on the Club board.

I did a search for "Bye Bye Blackbird" and came up with this: Midi (http://www.geocities.com/sabordin00/my_midi.html) You can listen to it there, but I don't think it's the Mindy theme or the Tweety one :(

I'd guess the scene is in "Birdy and the Beast." Tweety is pattering along whistling, stopping midway to do a kind of pirouette.

The tune is not "Bye Bye Blackbird," though. It's familiar to me (probably from this and other Warner cartoons!), but I can't assign it to a particular piece. I wouldn't be surprised if it's one of those melodies Carl Stalling pulled out of the grab-bag of silent movie stock pieces he was so familiar with.
