This auction sounds like a rip-off to me. The picture of the tape is just a typical $1.99 public domain Bugs Bunny collection. I doubt it contains those other cartoons (he does say he's "going by memory"). And $50.00??

Yeah, and aren't just about all of those pictures on the page from Jon's site?
I advise everybody to STAY AWAY from this auction.... :p

On the cover it states "All This and Rabbit Stew", and the other three titles are "Rookie Revue", "Saps In Chaps", and "Fresh Hare".
Hmmm-- I don't see "Which is Witch", "Southern Fried Rabbit", or "Bushy Hare" in those contents......

I agree too. I'm not going to purchase that tape.

Not only that, but cartoons like "Bushy Hare" and "Which Is Witch" (and "Southern Fried Rabbit", from which there was a picture, but no mention of it in the description) aren't even public-domain. Big rip-off. And the $50 price is a fairly good tip-off too..even really rare cartoon tapes don't sell for that much!

Looks like some sucker actually fell for it. The auction is over, and the high bidder paid 50 bucks for the tape.

Even though those are rare cartoons, they're not impossible to find. With a little effort one could get all of those cartoons for far less than $50.
By the way, this is the third or fourth time this person has sold copies of this video.

That's true. Let's hope AOL Time Warner finds out about it and sues that person. He/she deserves it. :D :D

I'm not opposed to someone offering rare cartoons on ebay, but it should have a fair price. I've considered offering some stuff that most people would consider rare (Censored 11 etc.), but not for anywhere near $50.00. In fact, I was thinking of a Buy It Now price of $10.00.

I've got that tape. It's one of only two "store-bought" LT videos I've got. It's only got the four public domain cartoons previously mentioned. (All This..., Rookie Review, Saps In Chaps, Fresh Hare). Yer better off buying this and tapes like it at flea markets or odd lots store for no more than $5.00! ;)
By the way, the picture quality on mine is crummy!

Well neither am I. If the person were selling the tape at around $10 or $15, then it would be just fine, even if some of the cartoons weren't in the public domain. The only reason I want that person to be sued is that he/she is ripping the customers off.

There was a seller that went by secretagentscully, among other seller ids. This is the same guy. He changes seller ID periodically, but almost alwys sells the same knd of tape-usually Fat Albert and "uncensored old-time shorts". I avoid his auctins myself. Something just doesn't sound right about his stuff to me.

ebay seems to be cracking down on some video sellers. A reliable source for rare live-action Hal Roach shorts recently got banned because his material "may be copyrighted". (By the way, it isn't.)
I just hope I'm not next, as I will sell videos of rare public domain movies from the 40's on there from time to time.
