Found a couple of interesting Disney items today while visiting a local thrift store. The first was a public domain Donald Duck video from a company called Silver Screen Video Inc. It was only 59 cents. The tape was in LP and included:

"The Spirit of '43" (Disney, Donald Duck)
"Bunny Mooning" (Fleischer, Color Classic)
"Crosby, Colombo, and Vallee" (WB, Merrie Melodie) - B&W (very nice print, too)
"Sinbad the Sailor" (Ub Iwerks)

The other thing came as quite a surprise. I happened to glance over to the shelf of stuffed animals (most of which looked like they originated as prizes at various county fairs) and something caught my eye. I thought to myself, "Gee, that doll looks a lot like Mr. Toad!" After a closer examination... it turns out it *was* Mr. Toad! The tag read:

Disney's Mr. Toad
From the movie The Adventures of Icabod and Mr. Toad
(c) DISNEY

Designed for SEARS
By TCA GROUP INC.

For only $1.99 and in perfect shape, I had to get it.. of course. :) Anyone have any idea when this was made? Or if there were any more in the series? I never knew Icabod & Mr. Toad merchandise like this even existed...

Some PD tapes have cartoons from the GAOLT laserdiscs. I have a tape with The Shanty Where Santy Claus Lives and it looks the same as the version on CN. (Of course, minus the editing and dubbed version card.)

You mean it had the Cartoon Network logo?

I never knew how severely The Shanty Where Santy Claus Lives was edited on CN until I got my video in the mail yesterday. It had the uncut version, nearly 7 minutes long! Last time Cargoon Networm aired it, it was only 5:15. That is severe editing.
