Why is that cartoon so rare? It is hardly ever shown.

It's shown over here in letterbox format. Strange that Tom looks the same as he did in 1949- except he's missing the white patch between his eyes.

I'd still like to see 'Tops With Pops' and 'Feedin' The Kitty' though.

The 3 cartoons you are discussing, "The Egg & Jerry", "Tops with Pops", and "Feedin' The Kiddie", are Cinemascope remakes of "Hatch Up Your Troubles", "Love That Pup", and "The Little Orphan" respectively. The same animation form the originals is used, except the backgrounds are more graphically designed. The same soundtracks are used also.

By the way "Feedin' The Kitty" is minus Mammy's silent appearance and the pickaninny/blackface gag at the end...

I did not know "The Egg and Jerry" was a remake. That is why I asked about it in particular.

Another change in "Feedin' the Kiddie": Nibbles is no longer referred to as an orphan... or as Nibbles. The letter Jerry reads refers to him as nephew Tuffy.
