Hi Everyone...
I'm new here...but just wanted to join the fun....and say hi!
My first Spidey book...Quality of Life issue 1 came out yesterday...(yeah...that darned CGI one...) and you can't imagine how excited I am!

I've been a Spidey geek since I was 4....
Spidey underoos...bedsheets...Mego Spider-Man...you name it.

All I've ever wanted to do was to draw Spider-Man....and...althouth it's not technically drawing....as of yesterday...I finally got my lifelong dream.

I know it's sappy...and I apologize....
But I'm just so stoked...I have to tell the world!

Anyways...this seemed like a cool place...so I thought I'd drop by...and say hey!

Scott

Whoa....it's Scott Sava.....

Hey, I'm Kid_Flash, I have nothing to do with these boards being here, but I do post the weekly comic book talk threads (unless Sugar Daddy steals my thunder :)).

But, uh, yeah, welcome!

Anyway, I enjoyed this book. T'was a lot of fun to read, and you really took advantage of the CGI art (I mean that in a good way). Hope to see a lot more from you (if you're ever wandering the Marvel halls, tell 'em how cool the Fantastic Four would look in CGI ;)).

Again, welcome!

Wow! Welcome to the boards! I hope your stay is a long one!

You are one lucky man - you got to work with the great Greg Rucka!

I did indeed pick up this issue this week, but I haven't had a chance to read it yet. I'll try and post something once I get the chance.

In the meantime, welcome to the boards, and enjoy the discussions!

Yeah...Greg's a real dynamo!
So you picked up the comic...but haven't had a chance to read it...I understand...that Jay Leno story in the back is addicting...isn't it?
:D

Hehehe.

Nah, it wasn't that. Unfortunately, I didn't get around to reading my comics until late last night, and I ended up falling asleep while I working my way through the stack. Hate it when that happens!

And I'm probably not going to get to read it tonight, since I'm heading out real soon to go see Attack of the Clones. :D

But I'll try and get to it soon.

This is an old thread but thought it deserved to be brought up again.

Scott if you ever see this I just happened to see an article about your work in Computer Graphics World September 2002. Great article. This is the first I've seen of your work or any CGI comic and I love the style. After I read the article I ran right out to the local comic shop, and by luck they had all four issues. I'm in my thirties and love the look you gave the series. You mentioned in the article that only the young-uns are taking a liking to them but I like them too (even my wife likes the style!). The decision you made to make the buildings and the rest of the environment look flat is wonderful. I also like how you've thrown in some 2D computer effects with the 3D (the best example is the Spidy alert halo/lightning bolts over Spiderman's head on the cover of #1). One problem I see is the way the inside of the elbow of a few characters flattens out like a bent straw when the characters bend their arms. Looks cheesy like Woody's arms (in Toy Story). Other than that its awesome! Oh, and it’s a good story too!

I hope Marvel gets you doing a regular! I'd like to see more of your work in CGI comics!

Joshualane,

Does "TPB" mean the four issues are published all together in a single book?

Yep, TPB is short for "Trade Paper Back" and usually they cost about what all the issues did separately, but sometimes a bit cheaper.

I heard there's going to be some extra stuff in the TPB. Can 'ssava' confirm this...?

Hey guys!
A buddy from the message board let me know that this thread got ressurected...ha ha
SOrry I got here so late.

Habenero:
THanks for stopping by my message boards and for liking the work!

Everyone else...
Yes...the trade paperback IS coming out in November....
The cool thing is....
They let me put in 13-15 pages of making of and behind the scenes stuff...
Alot of cool bloopers and behind the scenes didn't make it due to the amount of extra stuff I had...but it's STILL a great bit of extra stuff you get with Lots of pics!

I hope you enjoy it!

And lastlly....here's a link to a SNEAK PEEK at what the wraparound cover will look like.
