Yeah, it's real. Crimson molded leather, the baton on his leg. The cowl (I think those are horns, can't be sure). No "DD" on the chest. Oh well. :)

This guy is blind, but he's dating Jennifer Garner. I can believe the superhero part, but come on. Be realistic.

I dunno...those look like shiny red leather pants...not something I'd consider macho, if you know what I mean...

That costume looks cool. I like it, but is it me or is his head a bit big for his body?

As long as the costume has no "nipples", I'm satsified.
Afleck as Daredevil, it could work, maybe I'll have to see a teaser.

(btw, I don't stop by here, but I had to sound off about the Daredevil costume and I'm being forced in here, so....)
I like it. The only thing I really think could make it better is to have the DD splashed across the front. But nonetheless, this looks cool. Really looking forward to the movie.

Not bad. Not bad at all. Maybe there's some hope for this movie. We'll see.
I don't know...... A leather suit like that seems like it would be kinda hard to do all the stuff that Daredevil does..... I don't know, I could be wrong.
I agree with Kid _Flash though, it should have the DD across the front. Aside from that I think it's a very cool costume. I can't wait for this movie.

No nipples on the suit = GOOD. I really like how the costume has turned out, though I would have liked it even more with the DD on the chest. And isn't he supposed to have little horns? Do you think they left that out of the costume because it would look to cheesy?

It looks better than what I was reading at IGN about insider reports from on the set. The reports over there were making the costume out to be the worst comic adapted costume ever.
I like it, and despite Affleck being cast, I'm sure he will pull it off and the movie will be good.

The suit is sort alike the costume that The Rocketeer had, but red. I'm glad they strayed away from the Spidey spandex, becuase I don't think it would have worked as well as it does for Spider-Man. It's got a leather biker-gear look to it...I really did it. And the red eye sheilds...eyesome (Ha!)!

Q: What do Daredevil and a dumb blonde have in common?
A: They're both not worth looking at unless they got some DOUBLE D's on their chest!

The right side of his chest is in shadow. There could be a small "DD" there.
But this costume WORKS. It's fantastic. And check out the "strike points" on the gloves. :)
The Rocketeer, Jim?
:)
The best thing is, this costume can be EXPLAINED. He's a lawyer. :)

I'm surprised the feedback is so possitive. I feel this costume looks awful. In another thread with a similar picture , which may not have been authentic, I said it looked like a full body condom that's been stet on fire a few times. This looks like the same costume, and I still don't like it. I love DD. He's my favorite Marvel hero, probably my favorite comic hero of all time, but I hate this costume, this director, and this actor playing the lead. I will still go to the movie, but I'm predicting a trainwreck. It will probably be the artistic equivalent of early 90's Marvel DTVs such as Captain America and The Punisher. I'll be surprised if it's that good.
Now I know we all want it to be really good, and I understand that there's nothing wrong with wishful thinking. I actually really hope they prove me wrong and turn out a great movie. You're all entitled to your opinions and this is mine. Only time will tell, but I hope they don't use that costume.
Jim, you know I respect your opinion, probably more than anyone else's around here, but I have to disagree with you. The costume design for Spidey was the right idea. I think that a similar aproach would define DD perfectly. I've never seen Afleck shirtless so I don't know if skintight would compliment his build, but he's Daredevil, and he requires the same freedom to move as Spidey, if not more.
Well, what can I say? I hope everything comes out good and right.

No, that pic wasn't authentic. In fact, it was fairly obvious that it was a photomanipulation.

That's too bad. Michael Clarke Duncan is one heck of an actor, and he will bring The Kingpin to life. Jennifer Garner will be excellent as Elektra. The only question is Affleck as Daredevil, and he's a comic book fan. A major one.
As for movement: You can move in leather. Look at BLADE. Will he be as acrobatic as he is in the comics? Probably not. But he will be more realistic. In real life, people don't go bouncing off walls and swinging through the air on ropes. It works for Spider-Man, because of all his powers. But Daredevil is just a man with heightened senses.

Duncan is the HUGE black man that played Bear in ARMAGEDDON. He was also the condemned man in THE GREEN MILE.

A black man as the Kingpin? Yeah, he was good in those two movies, and I do think he's a good actor, but isn't that straying from continuity too far? We comic book fans don't like these Hollywood writers to stray from their origins. It's not that I personally have a problem with his race, but I'd like to see some sticking to the comics a tad bit more. Also, the Kingpin is the leader of all New York City crimerings. Don't you think some black activists are going to say all of a sudden that this is another bad depiction of black people as nothing but criminals?
On a related note, I got a friend who hated Tommy Lee Jones in Batman Forever, (or whatever the 3rd movie was called) simply because we started off with a black Harvey Dent in the first Batman movie, and he feels the writers should have just hired him to play Harvey in the 3rd Batman movie. I personally am a big fan of Tommy Lee Jones, but either would have worked. He's a continuity freak like me.

That new picture looks so much better. A good use of leather if I do say so myself. (I can even see the horns) I can agree with part of wonderfly's opinion on Michael Clarke Duncan as Kingpin, and how it might result to stereotyping for some people. However, I'd be careful with it. You don't want to sound too political. Still, you made your point. As for continuity, I always say pick one, or the other. I agree with you 100% on not being consistant with the casting that was made on Harvy Dent/Two Face in the Batman films.

I probably over reacted before, but I still really don't like that costume. I don't like the race changes, and it deepens my skeptisism about this film.

Well, I'm the other guy who's leaning towards the "thumbs down" category, and even when blown up, I just don't see it happening. It doesn't look so much like Daredevil to me as a guy in lots of HOT and SEXY RED LEATHER, who just happens to wear a mask. Who is this, the newest member of the CHIPPENDALES??
When it comes down to it, I just don't think the leather works in this case. Daredevil is a gritty, tough blind man. I don't think this costume reflects that. Just my opinion, though.

A new pic, courtesy of www.superherohype.com, has been put up and it looks really cool. Sorta like the first one, but with more background and at an angle. Still can't see the "DD" on the right breast. Here it is...it's big so it may take a minute. It's 682x1000.

I think the movie comes out in January. And what's with the whining about Daredevil looking like A Chippendale dancer? The suit looks true to the comic, and it's A nice use of leather in my opinion. Just be glad he dosen't look like the Daredevil from that Hulk TV movie from the late 80's.

I think the costume looks pretty good, and in the 1st hi-def large picture that Jim posted earlier, it sure looks to me like you can see the bottom portion of a raised "D" on the right side of the chest, about where Robin's emblem sits. Maybe it's just wishful thinking, but it sure looks that way to me.
