I stumbled across this question in my sleep. I know that many people think Ben Hardaway and Cal Dalton's cartoons aren't that great, but I would like to know what is your favorite cartoon from the " Dynamic Duo "? Post your response.
By the way, my favorite is Porky the Gob.
I finally saw it in B&W on LNB&W! I always saw in computer-colorized on Nickelodeon.

Tough one, dude...
I could pick from at least four: Count Me Out, Porky's Hare Hunt, Katnip Kollege, even Hobo Gadget Band. Seriously :D

We already covered this at length on the old board. It turned into an embarassing situation for an animation scholar who had the wrong director credited in his book. Most everyone picked "Katnip Kollege". Problem was it wasn't directed by Hardaway and Dalton (WAAAAAAY too good). It was directed by Cal Howard and Cal Dalton. Appears to have been animated using Frank Tashlin's animation unit while Hardaway started work on "Porky's Hare Hunt".

Yes, and the animation scholar has the correct title card posted at his website...

"Porky the Gob" also has at least one scene that looks like the layouts were done by Tashlin before he left WB, plus the storyline is a direct lift from Tashlin's "Little Beau Porky.". It's still one of Ben and Cal's better ones, but if I had to pick their best, I guess it would be "Count Me Out."

If the title card is available, why isn't the restored version on video or Cartoon Network?
