While visiting the various sites I frequent, I happened across an interesting picture at comicon.com (http://www.comicon.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=forum&f=13). Joe Kelly has been promising for quite some time that he was going to shake up the roster in JLA. It seems that issue 69 shows him keeping his promise.

I should point out to you that the change is temporary, (but not necessarily for all members,) because in the Obsidian Age storyline, the current JLA travels back in time, so a JLA is needed in the present.

The actual picture is located at The Cover of JLA #69 (http://www.comicon.com/gallery/categories/DC_Comics/media/JLACvr69.jpg) and the story that it appeared in is here Comicon.com Message Board (http://www.comicon.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=13&t=001107)

From the looks of things (from top to bottom, left to right) I am thinking that the line up includes

Faust
???
Firestorm
Nightwing
Black Canary or Zatanna, I'm not sure
Atom
Green Arrow
Hawkgirl

Any thoughts on the roster or the Obsidian Age in general? Let me know what you think

Interesting. One of the guys looked like Kyle, but he's traveling in time, so I guess not.

They will be starring alongside Fire, Captain Atom, the Elongated Man, and Mary Marvel. Not really my favorite creative team (Keith Giffen, J.M. DeMatteis, Kevin Maguire, and Joe Rubinstein) but I may check this out if my budget permits. With my recent departure from Winnick/Eaglesham's embarrassment that is Green Lantern I may have some extra cash with which to pick up this series.

That is one SWEET cover!

Does anyone else here really like Doug Mahnke's work? And is he still doing Superman: MOS, or something else?

I always enjoyed this art on that title; it fit the mood and atmosphere of the book very well. I don't feel it has the same resonance on JLA. I personally wish they had brought in former fill-in artist Mark Pajarillo who penciled such issues as 35 (with the Spectre,) and the stories about the JLA in Gotham and JLA meeting the Dark Flash. His rendition of Superman was spot-on.

As far as the original intent of this topic goes, I am shocked to see that nobody has any complaints, concerns or compliments about the line-up as it appears on the cover. I thought this would be a much more active thread than it has been. Surely you all must care, at least on some level, about the choices made for new members, and even the possible implications of Hawkgirl appearing on the cover (is she done with the JSA?)

I hope to soon garner some more participation from you all regarding this issue.

Um... neat. I don't have a problem with it. Heh, figured they'd bring in Hawkgirl sooner or later.

I don't keep up with the JSA monthly(I stick with the TPBs, as I heard its too hard to understand without reading the whole thing), so I don't know too much about Hawkgirl. What interests me is Green Arrow and Nightwing. Ollie was hilarious in his series when Aquaman took him to the Watchtower(although that was before he got his memory back). And if Nightwing becomes a full member of the JLA(Who knows? It could happen?), how would Batman react?

Can someone give me more information about Firestorm and Faust? Also, is Faust any way similar to Felix Faust, the guy who was in JL and who I think was from the comics? And has anyone figured out who the person is next to Firestorm? I heard DC wanted to bring back Captain Marvel/Shazam(whatever), could that be him? I don't know what he looks like. Sorry, that is a lot. Thanks
